Friends of Sperrinview

A very busy week in Sperrinview celebrating World Book Day with a week full of activities. On Monday PTA members read a selection of storybooks to students, the book fair was a big success also, the amount of books purchased made it possible for the school to receive an additional £360 of free books 🥳🎉 On Tuesday classes set up a sensory exploration of their favourite books, Wednesday the Junior school had a visit from a librarian and the Senior classes went to visit Coalisland Library. Thursday the talented Paul Howard, children’s book illustrator, spent the day drawing with pupils and on Friday staff and students got dressed up as their favourite characters to attend the school disco. Students Finn and Telly were amongst those to win a prize for their lovely costumes.
A huge thank you to teacher Collette McNamee for all her efforts in organising the full week of events and for inviting the Friends of Sperrinview to participate, we loved reading to the students of this very special wee school. 💜💚

The Friends of Sperrinview PTA have received a very kind donation of costumes in honor of World Book Day and modelled by lovely student Sophie.
Dress up is on Friday 7th March. If your child is in need of a costume, please send your child’s teacher a message and we will have them pick a costume.
As this was a donation, availability on various characters and sizes may be limited but we will try our very best to accommodate requests.
We would like to say a very big thank you to Parentkind and Rubies for the generous donation.

We wish to give a very heartfelt thank you to all who so kindly purchased items from our recent Amazon Wish List appeal. Today, Friends of Sperrinview committee member Rosie Campbell helped sort and distribute some of the items received and the students will arrive in school tomorrow to enjoy these lovely resources. We are blessed to be supported by such a generous community.

💜💚 As the year is drawing to a close, it’s clear to see the resources in school have been very well loved by all of our dear students. The PTA have constructed an Amazon Wish List to replenish those well loved items and also to add some new fun and educational items that teachers and staff can construct some great lessons with in the New Year. A huge thank you to the Hanna family & friends who recently held a concert in the Royal Hotel, Cookstown to raise funds for the school. The amount raised was a whopping £3337! 🎉🥳👏

Opportunity not to be missed ….

Anyone who has attended workshops or session with Grace will know she is amazing at what she does! Alongside Children’s Dietician, Dr Kirsty Porter, Grace has recently released an online therapy programme for parents of children with sensory eating difficulties.

Grace has kindly offered to run a free taster session “Play activities to support your child with sensory feeding challenges" for our local community.

Friends of Sperrinview would like to wish all students, families and friends a Happy Hallowe’en!
We had a very busy and fun week leading up to half term. Thank you to Sainsbury’s Dungannon for providing the pumpkins for our pumpkin carving contest. Which one’s your favourite?
The folks at Tesco Dungannon delivered some tasty treats to Head Boy Michael and Deputy Head Boy Ethan - thank you very much!
The students enjoyed a Hallowe’en disco and went trick or treating around the school where they picked up sweets and light up spooky ducks courtesy of our PTA, thank you to committee member Rosie for organising.
