๐Ÿก A peek inside our wonderful nursery hallโ€ฆ

We often talk about our amazing outdoor provision, but our indoor space is just as thoughtfully planned to inspire, support and nurture our children.

Our hall gives us the flexibility to create a range of inviting learning spaces, while ensuring children have room to explore, play, move and develop at their own pace.

๐Ÿ‘ถ A special space for our under 2s

We have created a dedicated area for our youngest children, providing a safe, cosy and welcoming space for babies who are crawling, beginning to walk or simply need a quieter place to feel secure.

Soft carpets, cushions and our cosy little den help to create a homely, comforting environment where children can settle, build relationships and develop confidence.

Our youngest children are not restricted to this area. As their confidence and abilities develop, they are encouraged to explore the wider provision too, supported closely by our baby room practitioners. This allows children to build independence and develop at a pace that is right for them.

Spaces designed for learning through play

Throughout the hall, we use rugs and carpets to help define different areas of provision, creating clear and inviting spaces for:

๐Ÿ  Home and role play
๐ŸŽจ Creativity and mark making
๐ŸŒ Small world play
๐Ÿ“š Books and quiet time
๐Ÿงฉ Construction and problem solving
๐Ÿ‘ซ Social and imaginative play

Because we are a pack-away setting, we have a wonderful opportunity to be flexible. Our environment can change alongside the children โ€” responding to their interests, emerging fascinations and developmental needs.

We believe a great nursery environment doesn't need to be complicated. It needs to be welcoming, purposeful, flexible and centred around the children.

Every space provides opportunities for children to explore, create, communicate, build relationships and develop independence through meaningful play.

A space that changes with our children. A space where learning happens through play.

๐ŸŒฟโ˜€๏ธ **This Weekโ€™s Highlights** โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

What a sunny week we have had! We have made the most of the beautiful weather by utilising our garden all day, every day. ๐ŸŒฑ

Weโ€™ve enjoyed our snacks and lunches outdoors, and even our little ones have been able to enjoy their naps in our garden teepee. ๐Ÿ’ค๐ŸŒณ Thereโ€™s something so special about giving children the freedom to learn, explore and relax in the fresh air.

A huge thank you to J F Tree Specialist Limited for our fantastic delivery of tree stumps! ๐ŸŒณ These have already become so much more than just logs โ€” they have been used as stepping stones, seats and bases for our beams, giving the children opportunities to climb, balance, problem-solve and develop their physical confidence.

Our outdoor classroom is really starting to come to life, and this week we have also proudly introduced our Little Rangers!

Through Little Rangers, children are encouraged to explore their environment, investigate nature, take manageable risks and develop independence โ€” all through meaningful, child-led experiences within our outdoor provision.

Our outdoor adventures support all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including:

Physical Development โ€“ balancing, climbing, stepping, moving and developing coordination.

Understanding the World โ€“ exploring nature, noticing changes in the environment and developing curiosity about the world around us.

Communication & Language โ€“ talking about what we see, asking questions, sharing ideas and developing new vocabulary.

Personal, Social & Emotional Development โ€“ building confidence, independence, resilience and learning to manage manageable risks.

Expressive Arts & Design โ€“ using natural materials and our outdoor environment as inspiration for creativity and imaginative play.

Literacy & Maths naturally weave through our experiences too โ€” from counting and comparing our natural treasures to sharing stories, mark-making and talking about our discoveries.

Because learning doesnโ€™t have to happen inside four walls.

At our nursery, we believe that children learn best when they are given the space, time and freedom to explore โ€” and our Little Rangers are certainly making the most of it! ๐ŸŒณ
