A pair who need no introduction to the Taylorstown family! Combined they have over 30 years of service at Taylorstown and had formed part of the furniture!

Over the years they have seen countless children through the doors, they have nurtured them through their first step into education, helped them learn and watch their personalities grow.

The uniforms and hairstyles may have changed but what never changed, was their dedication to their role. The strong reputation Taylorstown has, has been built on the care they have given over the years, they have treated every child through the doors like their own, meeting every need whether it’s a reassuring word or a strong one!

It’s taken us so long to write this post because there aren’t enough words to express how we feel! In June, we said a very sad but fond farewell to them both as they leave us for pastures new.

On behalf of everyone at Taylorstown we thank you both for all your years of service, the dedication and resilience you have shown over the years and the grace with which you have handled every obstacle. Your legacy will live on in the ethos you have created at Taylorstown, you will both be so sorely missed. We wish you all the very best whatever the future holds and we know you will be amazing no matter what you do.

Twenty years ago, I walked through the doors of Taylorstown,
Only planning to stay for a year.
I never imagined that one year
Would become a journey so full of love, laughter and memories.

The colleagues I worked alongside
Soon became much more than staff —
They became family.
The families who trusted me with their precious little ones
Became lifelong friends.

And the children...
Each and every one has left a mark on my heart.
Though many have grown and moved on,
A little piece of them stays with me still.

From the magic paper towels that could fix any bump or tear,
To the songs we sang at the top of our voices,
The dancing, the laughter, the stories and cuddles,
We created moments of magic every single day.

On the hardest days,
The children could make me smile.
On the busiest days,
They reminded me what truly matters.
They had a wonderful way of turning the worst day into the best one,
Without even knowing they were doing it.

Taylorstown has been so much more than a place of work.
It has been a second home,
A place where friendships grew,
Where little hands reached for mine,
And where countless memories were made.

As I look back on nearly twenty years,
My heart is full of gratitude.
For every child,
Every family,
Every colleague,
Every laugh,
Every tear,
And every moment that brought us together.

What was only meant to be one year
Became one of the most important chapters of my life.

Thank you, Taylorstown,
For the memories, the friendships, the love and the laughter.
I will carry a piece of this place with me always,
And a piece of my heart will forever remain here.

🚑🚓People who help us 🚌🚒

We have been having great fun learning about all the different people who help us over the past few weeks.

We were delighted to welcome firefighters from Ballymena Fire Station to preschool this week. The children had great fun seeing around the fire engine, dressing Stefanie up in all the firefighter gear and even got a chance to use the hose!

‼️We need your help‼️

Following our successful community meeting we are calling all stakeholders to write to the Education minister, Paul Givan and the Education Authority to request that they reverse their decision and give Taylorstown the funded places to meet our demand.

The attached fact sheet lays out some useful points to cover in your letter.

We need the whole community behind us to send a letter of support for Taylorstown to the EA.

We ask that you draft a letter, attach the letter to an email and send the email to the 3 email addresses in the attached factsheet.

❤️ If you have previously had a child attend our setting - please write a letter!
💛 If you hope to have a child or grandchild attend our setting in the future - please write a letter!
❤️ If you see the merit in a cross community preschool in the Grange - please write a letter!

🌟 What a night!! ✨

Thank you to everyone who came to our community meeting last night, it was great to see such a great turnout from the community and our elected representatives, your support means more than you know ❤️

We will be sharing details over the next few days of how you can support us and help us lobby EA.

The message is clear…..Taylorstown is here to stay and we will fight the EA tooth and nail to get the funded places to meet the demand for our preschool 💪🏻💪🏻
