Personalised Hyrox Training Plans - now available!

This is something I’ve been asked about a lot so I’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make sure I can provide my clients with best possible service, and with 13 weeks left to Hyrox Manchester and 15 weeks to Hyrox Glasgow, what perfect time to start!

What you get….

* Fitness assessments built into the plan for accurate reference points, you can’t improve what you don’t measure!

* Full personalised training plan that can either be used stand alone or as a supplement to your current training.

* Nutrition and recovery plans also available through my online coaching app.

Establishing a routine or habit of training is important but if you want to take your performance to the next level you have to make sure your training has a purpose, so you are not just training out of habit but are actually working to become a better athlete.

Plans available for a monthly fee with the first cycle starting 7th November.

Mindful movement 🧠

Knee friendly lunges!

The forward lunge is one of the most commonly butchered movements in the gym.

Although the forward and reverse lunge look very similar, apart from the direction, the reverse lunge is a hip hinge dominate movement and will activate the posterior chain muscles more than its counterpart.

Placing a band behind the knee helps maintain tension throughout the movement and helps maintain a more vertical shin angle as you step back. This helps take some of the load off your knees and is great at teaching correct weight distribution and technique!

Hyrox Pro London

Paced it well and was on for much quicker time than Manchester with a decent placing but made a couple of mistakes which included an extra lap on the sled pull and a 5 minute penalty 🙄

My time 1:16 (including 5 minute penalty)

Great day though, really enjoyed it but feel like there’s plenty of room to improve!

Good luck to the guys from competing at Hyrox London tomorrow.

Pull the pin and send from the off, there’s no other way!

3 Stretches you are not doing but probably should!

A lot of people I see (including myself!) have tight lats, pecs and obliques (at least on one side) and this quick banded sequence helps with all 3.

Using a band like this is excellent at helping create more space around the joint complex which allows greater fluidity and healthier movement.

Plus it feels mint!!

Give em a go!

One rep at a time, one mile at a time, one step at a time.

6 days until Hyrox London, can’t wait!

Daily habits 🧠

The older I get the more I realise how fleeting mobility and flexibility is. Strength and general conditioning is relatively easy to build at any age but strength without control is pointless.

I’ve been working on the couch stretch daily for a few weeks now, holding this position for a good 2-3 minutes each side. Still a way to go but I’m noticing a big difference already.

Find a position where you can squeeze the glutes and still take a breath without arching the back. Your hips, knees and back will thank you for it!
