TOP TIP TUESDAY

With the 11+ now very close, the final stretch should be about calm, focused practice - not panic or cramming.

Children perform best when they feel prepared, capable and supported. In the final week, try to keep practice light and familiar.

Focus on:

• reading questions carefully
• short timed sections
• key vocabulary
• reviewing previous mistakes
• rest and routine

At this stage, confidence matters just as much as practice.

A calm child who trusts themselves is far more likely to show what they can do on the day. 🌱

Parents, in the final few weeks before the 11+, your job is not to panic.

Children take their cue from us. If the adults around them feel stressed, worried or disappointed after every practice paper, they will feel that pressure too.

At this stage, confidence matters just as much as practice.

Keep the routine calm, praise effort, review mistakes gently, and remind your child that one paper, one score or one tricky question does not define them.

The goal now is to help them walk into the exam feeling prepared, supported and capable.

Firstly, we need to know that April has 30 days.

From 30th April, we can keep adding 7 days so that we stay on a Wednesday!

30th April + 7 days = 7th May
7th May + 7 days = 14th May
14th May + 7 days = 21st May
21st May + 7 days = 28th May

Then, from 28th May → 30th May, it is +2 days.

So:

Wednesday + 2 days = FRIDAY!
