Today we celebrate World Book Day.

Kumon offers an English program designed to develop strong reading, vocabulary, SPaG and writing foundations through regular study. We develop strong vocabulary skills by ensuring that our students understand tricky words/phrases. I also teach chidren comprehension and spelling strategies and how to proof read their work.

Key features of the Kumon English program:

Students work through individualised work which gradually increases in difficulty. We cover a wide range of topics, including vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing. We ensure children understand tricky words and teach strategies for comprehendion and how to check their work.

Self-learning:
The program emphasises independent learning, with students working through worksheets and receiving guidance from their instructor when needed, fostering self-confidence and self-learning skills.

Individualised instruction:
Instructors set work at the appropriate level for each student, regardless of age, allowing them to be challenged and progress at their own pace.

Focus on fluency and accuracy:
The program aims to develop students' fluency and accuracy in reading and writing through daily practice.

Variety of texts:
The worksheets include extracts from published texts, including literary works and non-literary texts, to inspire a love of reading. Over 360!

Reading comprehension:
The program emphasises developing strong reading comprehension skills.

Writing development:
Students practice writing skills through various exercises and activities.
