Our U16 Boys Rugby team were also competing yesterday taking on a combined team of Tain Academy and Golspie High School. Many of the Alness boys fronting up against their Ross Sutherland team-mates - which made it a fun and competitive game!
29-44 final score to T/G. tries on our side from Jack Noble, John Maclennan and John Whiteford (Tain), conversions from Austin Stevenson.
Great effort and skills on display especially from a few of the newer players who really stepped up against an experienced side.

Hard lines to our U14 boys football team who played a very strong Banff team in the North of Scotland Cup yesterday. The boys were under pressure early but defended really well for large spells in the game and played some nice football at times. Great attitude from the whole squad and we kept battling to the final whistle. All the best to Banff in the next round.

Well played to our senior football boys who played Speyside in our our first of four games in the league phase of the North of Scotland Cup. The boys were slow to start and trailed 2-0 fairly early. The rest of the game was an even contest and we continued to battle back with goals from Kelvin Urquhart and two from Maciej Cylman, but lost out 5-3 in the end to a strong Speyside team. Some great football played and a wonderful team goal for our third. We go again next Tuesday away to Tain Royal Academy.

⚽️ U15 Girls Football⚽️

It’s been a busy few days for our U15s! The girls kicked off the new school year with a friendly against Fortrose Academy last Thursday. It was good preparation for today’s North Scotland Schools Cup game against Portree High School.

The girls started really well defensively against a strong Portree team. It was the team’s first 11-a-side game, and they played with so much determination and resilience. Portree High came away with the win, but the girls should be very proud of their performances in a difficult game.

Player of the Match went to Sophie for her composed performance at centre back.

A huge thank you to Portree High for making the journey, and to Mike Stankie for refereeing the match.

Additional thanks to senior helper Ami, who has been supporting the girls’ after school sessions this term.

Well done girls. Our time will come! 💪⚽️
