🐣 Easter holidays at Country House 🐰

Spring has erupted and brought the magic this half term!

How beautiful it has been to park up the school buses and fully immerse into Country House - Easter Style! We also had a blackbird make a nest on the underside of the school bus, sadly she abandoned it - but it gave us a rare opportunity for the children to study the nest and eggs, with gentle care, they adored getting up close with a part of nature they rarely get to see 🪺

As per our pedagogy - the children have been the makers of their wonder during their days at nursery -

The celebration of new life, balance and the return of the warmer weather, promise of vibrant colours, smells and sounds, as mother nature returns its gratitude to us for enduring her winter with grace.

Day and night are equal in length now and foraging for the life bursting out of Country House has been the focus around here! 🌻

The children have been witnessing the sequences of nature, finding balance and peace with all the living things around us...

🌿We saw this post by Little White Adventures and it resonated with us so much, we often ask ourselves what we can add into our spaces to enhance the child's experience, how we can change and upgrade the spaces for the benefit of the child, and whilst we are always looking for new ways for the children to explore..

the truth is, sometimes.. nothing🥰

🌻Nothing - means that the children become the architect of their play, they find wonder in the mundaneness of a stick, or a leaf, and it leads to imaginative and wonderful play, all from the small leaf, a resource at their disposal and right there for the taking.

adding bright coloured plastic toys and an overstimulation of stuff into their path can stifle the imagination, the magic, the wonder, the awe✨️

were proud to be creating spaces for children to just be - and think, and see, and touch, and feel, give them the space and support to exist in their own moments🖤

Tuesday 17th Feb - 🥢 Chinese New Year Celebrations began 🐉 - 🍳 with a sprinkle of pancake day 🥞

The children were gifted a lucky gold coin , the gold represents a lucky color, symbolizing wealth and good fortune for the new lunar year, placed inside red packets (hongbao) and given to children by elders to ward off evil, and to wish for success.

🐉We had spring rolls and sweet and sour noodles for lunch, and the environment was draped with lanterns, and additions to play areas like chopsticks, traditional plating, and dragons for inspiration in creative areas🥢🎉

Afternoon play saw the children turn the outdoor spaces into creative pancake making before eating all the pancakes at tea time! 🥞

🎂 I T S O U R B I R T H D A.Y 🥳

Established in 2019 and building up with each wonderful year, everything came down to this moment! This time last year Country House Childcare officially became a registered Nursery 🥰

On our first birthday as a nursery we want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us since 2019, none of this would be possible with out the wonderful families who trust us with their children. We adore every moment 🥰

Of course.. we celebrated with this beautiful cake! 🎂

Here's to many more years inspiring curiosity in nature, and continuing to offer all that we can to you all🥂 🥳

🎅 Christmas at Country House 🎄

A magical December has unfolded this year, careful consideration to nurture curiosity while incorporating the holiday magic 🥰

✨️ We want to take a moment to wish all of our littles and their families a wonderful, magical, love filled Christmas and Happy New Year ✨️

N o v e m b e r 🍂

Making the most of autumn before a touch of frost has brought so many moments of magic and wonder for the children at Country House this month 🥰

The children have explored natural resources in mud kitchen - pumpkins, leaves, sticks, conkers, acorns, stones and sand and mud.

imagination has been flowing through the outdoor spaces, the construction garden has seen all sorts being created and made by our littles, and the forest school has been making wonder, even a camp fire to celebrate Bonfire Night 🔥 and impromptu school closure gave the biggies a chance to pond dip and explore the fairy bridge!

The lane and nature reserve have seen bug hunts, outdoor bingo, buzzard spotting, leaf collecting, sheep spotting and bridge building - friendships have solidified with new children and the team spirit is hight 🥰

The indoor spaces have also been taken over by Autumn, with harvest resources being added to enhance learning, leaf printing, pumpkins, baking, sensory bags, natural playdough and so much more 🍂

Ideally between 5m-7m diameter if anyone has one they no longer use or want, or if anyone knows of anyone who might be able to advise and supply us with one please get in touch!

🍂 A u t u m n 25 ' 🍂

Country House has been in the thick of the seasonal benefits autumn has to offer, and the autumnal magic nature offers has provided all the opportunities for developmental leaps that a traditional class room just cant offer, the learning through play hasn't stopped flowing all month! 🥰

Conkers, acorns, sticks, rocks, twigs, mud, rain, water, puddles, pumkins, sunshine, wellies, puddle suits, pine cones, leaves and so much more..
