🌟 What a Year It Has Been! 🌟

As we finish for the summer today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the achievements, progress and success of our students and staff throughout the year. We’re incredibly proud of everything that has been accomplished and grateful for the continued support from our wider community.

Our Summer Newsletter highlights some of the fantastic milestones reached this year, along with updates on our provision and plans moving forward.

We would like to extend a special thank you to everyone at the Genesis Entertainment Centre and Genesis Business Centre, as well as Maz and the team at Aera Support Community Group Aeras Sensory Den . Your support, encouragement and partnership have made a real difference, and we are truly grateful for everything you have done for us this year.

To all of our students, families, colleagues and partners – thank you for being part of our journey.

📅 We reopen to students on Monday 7th September and can’t wait to welcome everyone back.

We're excited to be growing our team and are now looking for an Engagement & Learning Mentor to join 4Life Explorers from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our youngest learners in a nurturing, small-group environment, supporting children with additional needs and barriers to learning alongside an experienced teacher.

💚 9:00am – 3:00pm

💚 Small groups and high staffing ratios

We're looking for someone who is caring, enthusiastic, adaptable and passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

We survived the heat this week ☀️🥵… with plenty of ice pops to keep us going! 🍦💧

Despite the soaring temperatures, it’s been a fantastic week packed with experiences – including an exciting visit to Alton Towers 🎢 and time spent practising our athletics and rugby skills 🏃‍♂️🏉. The effort and determination from our young people has been brilliant to see! 👏

A huge thank you to our amazing staff team for their continued hard work, dedication, and support — especially during those extra warm days. We couldn’t do it without you! 💙

Here’s to slightly cooler weather… hopefully! 😅

📸 A Week at 4Life Education… in Photos!
What a week it’s been! We’ve been out and about, making the most of every opportunity and packing in some amazing experiences 👏

From pizza making at Pizza Express 🍕, to fishing 🎣, scavenger hunts 🔍, there’s been something for everyone.

We’ve also been busy preparing for the future by practising our interview skills 💬, as well as enjoying visits to the summer fair 🎡, the local fish shop 🐟, and Urban Exotics 🦎.

Back at provision, we made our shopping lists before collecting ingredients to make our own rocky road 🍫 (which went down very well!).

Throughout it all, our young people have been developing and using so many skills from the Skills Builder Framework – from teamwork and communication to problem solving and staying positive 💪

Most importantly… we’ve had plenty of fun along the way! 😊

🍕✨ 4Life Education Visits Pizza Express! ✨🍕

Our students had an incredible time during our visit to Pizza Express at East Midlands Designer Outlet this week! 🙌

They fully embraced the experience, learning how to make their very own pizzas from scratch. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Throughout the session, they listened carefully, showed a strong understanding of food hygiene, and impressed staff with their positive attitude and behaviour.
We were especially proud of how they represented 4Life Education—demonstrating so many of the skills they’ve been developing, out in the community. 🌟

A HUGE thank you to the amazing team at Pizza Express for welcoming us so warmly and making it such a memorable morning! 💛
And of course… one of our favourite parts had to be tasting the delicious pizzas we created ourselves! 😋🍕

Based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, we are a small alternative provision delivering a broad and engaging curriculum, with a strong focus on life skills and personal development.

🌦️ Weekly Round-Up at 4Life Education 🌟

The weather may not have been on our side this week, but our students have certainly made up for it with their energy, creativity, and determination! 👏

We’ve kicked things off with a bit of World Cup fever, sparking great conversations, teamwork, and excitement across the provision. ⚽

Out in the community, students have been building their independence skills, working on budgeting and collecting resources—showing fantastic confidence and real-world decision-making. We’ve also been exploring holiday options within a budget, developing key life skills in a fun and practical way. ✈️💷

Back in provision, there’s been a great mix of creative crafting activities, giving everyone the chance to express themselves 🎨

And… our chess community is growing! ♟️ The interest (and competition!) continues to build—watch this space, as a 4Life team may be coming soon! 👀

All of this, and so much more, has made for a brilliant week. We’re incredibly proud of the effort and progress shown by every student. 💙

🌍✨ Another Busy & Brilliant Week at 4Life Education! ✨🌍

This week, our learners have been diving into some fantastic topics and experiences!

We’ve explored the environment, learning about how to look after our planet and the importance of recycling 🌱♻️. Alongside this, students completed some amazing projects all about Sir Shellington, our much-loved provision tortoise 🐢💚

We’ve also begun learning about Pride Month, helping our young people understand the importance of inclusion, respect, and celebrating the LGBTQ+ community 🌈

We also learnt about the affects of drugs and alcohol on our bodies 🧠

Out in the community, learners visited a local car showroom, where they explored finance and budgeting—including how loans work and what APR really means 💷🚗 A great real-life learning experience!

Our new favourite activity, archery, continues to be a big hit 🎯—with students building focus, resilience, and confidence each session.

And of course, we’ve had plenty of team games and activities, helping everyone to develop their communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills 🤝

👏 A fantastic week all round—we’re so proud of everyone’s effort, enthusiasm, and progress!
