Hi everyone, one of our pupils has had a huge house fire at their home and has lost everything. Im sure you all understand that for a child who is autistic and highly anxious, having familiar things around you is very important.
The fire destroyed the young ladies bedroom which was her sanctuary. Im asking if anyone has anything One Direction, Michael Jackson or BTS that I could collect - especially a double bed set with One D on - she had three that were rotated.
They have lots of toiletries and board games donated already and basic furniture but its the little things that really matter.

Learning maths was full of adventure today as our students headed to the park for some bug hunting! 🐞🦋🐜

Armed with tally charts and plenty of enthusiasm, the students searched for a variety of mini beasts, carefully recording each one they spotted. Back in the classroom, they used their tallies to compare results, count totals and develop their data handling skills.

It was a fantastic way to combine outdoor learning with maths, while encouraging curiosity about the natural world. Well done to all of our budding bug hunters! 🌿🔍

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome our local PCSOs into Phoenix to teach our students all about staying safe over the summer holidays. 🚓☀️

The students enjoyed a fantastic interactive session where they learned about keeping themselves safe, both at home and out in the community. They also gave us an insight to open water safety, which will complement the accreditation that our students are working towards. They also had the exciting opportunity to explore the police car, sit inside it, hear the different sirens, and learn about the situations each siren is used for.

It was a fun, hands-on experience that sparked lots of curiosity and gave our students a greater understanding of the important role the police play in keeping our communities safe.

A huge thank you to our local PCSOs Hayley & Seb for taking the time to visit us and share such fantastic advice. We really appreciate your support! 👮🚔

🎨 Another creative week in the art room! 🎨

Our students have been busy exploring a range of artistic techniques and styles this week. Some students created beautiful animal-themed relief prints, carefully designing and carving their images into printing blocks before using ink rollers and brayers to transfer their designs onto paper. It was wonderful to see the excitement as each unique print was revealed!

Other students focused on drawing and painting projects, developing their skills in colour, shading, and composition, while some explored the vibrant world of name graffiti, experimenting with lettering styles and creative designs to express their individuality.

We are so proud of the creativity, patience, and effort our students have shown. Every piece reflects their imagination and growing artistic confidence. Well done, everyone! 👏🖌️🎨

We're not quite finished but we would love to give you a sneaky peek of our new school in Cromford, Derbyshire. (Water Lane, DE4 3QH)

On 20th June, Cromford are holding a Celebrating Cromford event and as part of this we will be opening our doors to show you our renovations so far.

Some of our team will be on hand to show you around and talk about our provision.

We will be holding a formal open day closer to our opening day.

And just like that one of our rooms is nearly ready. This is going to be our therapy room for activities such as speech therapy and Thrive. Our amazing HLTA Lucie, is currently completing her Level 5 Apprenticeship in the Thrive Approach which will help us to assess pupils’ social and emotional skills, create targeted action plans to support mental health and track progress over time.
