This weekend, our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh students put all of the skills they have learnt into their practice expedition weekend. The weather conditions were ideal and the students walked well together and kept their spirits high.
The expedition section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award is a challenge! It has pushed our students both physically and mentally and we are all so proud of the resilience they demonstrated this weekend! We are looking forward to the assessment weekend in two weeks time.
A huge thank you to all of the staff that supported in this weekend's expedition.

Three JSTC athletes were selected to represent the Coastal and Wolds Superzone at today's Lincolnshire Schools Track and Field Championships. The event sees the best athletes from schools across Lincolnshire come together to compete, with the winners of each event gaining the title of County Champion.
In the Junior Girls competition, Year 9 Lexi contested the 80m hurdles and the high jump. A strong run in the hurdles saw her finish in third place (although with the same time as the second placed athlete). Lexi then moved on to the high jump where she won the competition with a new personal best height of 1.57m.
Year 11 Freddie took advantage of a break in his GCSE exams to compete in the Inter Boys 1500m and 3000m. Despite much preferring longer distances, Freddie produced a very creditable run in the 1500m, finishing in sixth place in a very strong field and setting a new pb in the process. He then produced a masterful performance in the 3000m, leading from the start and finishing well clear of second place.
Dexter in Year 10 contested the 100m and 200m events in the Inter Boys age group. Qualifying comfortably for the finals in both events, Dexter finished in fourth place in a very fast 100m final. He then moved on to the final of his favoured 200m and in a very close final few metres managed to secure the win with a really strong finish.
An outstanding day of athletics for these three athletes, with all three becoming County Champions. They have also all been selected to represent Lincolnshire in the upcoming Anglian Schools Championships and we are really proud of their achievements.

Our students explored the fascinating world of optics by creating their own hologram images using nothing more than clear acetate sheets! Through careful measuring, cutting, and assembly, they built simple hologram projectors and were amazed to see 3D-style images appear before their eyes.
