A fantastic ITP week with the primary cohort, centred on adaptive teaching. It was filled with rich discussion, collaborative exploration, and meaningful research, all culminating in a series of insightful presentations.

We’re proud to share that Barr Beacon SCITT was among the first providers inspected under Ofsted’s new framework in January 2026 and the report is now live.
Inspectors praised our “highly inclusive, nurturing culture,” with Inclusion, Professional Behaviours, Personal Development and Wellbeing all rated Strong Standard.
Trainees highlighted feeling supported, valued and “at ease,” with highly tailored support and wellbeing embedded throughout the programme.
The report recognises that we develop “reflective, resilient professionals” ready to make a difference.

This week, our trainees have been exploring teaching pedagogy in action through Carousel Week. In today’s session at Smestow Academy, they experienced school life through the lens of an EAL student and discussed their role in supporting them in making progress. We look forward to hearing about their experiences at Wednesfield Academy, Elmwood School, Shelfield Academy and Phoenix Academy at the end of the week!
