Community Week seems like a while ago but we received this lovely letter below over the break thanking us for our contribution. It is great to see the wide reaching impact Community Week has. Well done Year 5 (now Year 6!)

Dear Holly Lodge Primary Academy Students,

I hope you are enjoying your summer holidays. On behalf of everyone at Frimley Health Charity, I wanted to say a huge thank you to your fantastic students for their beautifully handwritten and illustrated pictures you created and sent to us.

We were truly touched by your kind words and wonderful drawings. We feel incredibly honoured to have been chosen as your local heroes and are so grateful that you took the time to think about the work we do to support local patients and their families. We will be sure to also pass these on to our clinical teams for you, as I know they will put a big smile on their faces🙂.

Your creativity, thoughtfulness and kindness brought lots of smiles to our team. It means so much to know that young people in our community recognise and appreciate the efforts of those who work in and support their local hospitals.

Please pass on our thanks to all the pupils and staff involved. The pictures are a lovely reminder of the amazing community spirit we are fortunate to have around us.

That's a wrap on another fantastic school year!

As we reach the end of term, we would like to say a huge thank you to our wonderful pupils, dedicated staff, supportive families and governors for making this year such a success.

We are incredibly proud of all that our children have achieved, both inside and outside the classroom. From learning new skills and taking on challenges to showing kindness, resilience and determination every day, they have been amazing ambassadors for our school.

A special thank you to our staff team for their hard work, commitment and care throughout the year, and to our families for your continued support and partnership.

To our Year 6 leavers, we wish you every success and happiness as you move on to the next stage of your journey. We are so proud of you and know you will achieve great things.

We hope everyone has a safe, restful and enjoyable summer break. We look forward to welcoming you back in September for another exciting year of learning and achievement.

What an end to the year! A huge thank you to Holly Lodge School Association - HLSA for providing an inflatable assault course for the day. The children absolutely loved it as you can see from Year 4!

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Holly Lodge have achieved a Silver level award for the Race Charter Mark! This was a significant piece of work that all staff and children contributed to and we're thrilled that our commitment has been recognised.

'Congratulations to Holly Lodge Primary Academy who have been recognised nationally for their commitment to improving race equality and prioritising an inclusive culture where staff, students, parents and partners of all ethnicities are equally valued, by being awarded the Silver level RACE Charter Mark.

Developed by SSAT (the Schools, Students and Teachers network) and Fig Tree International, the Race and Conscious Equality (RACE) Charter Mark is for schools, academies and colleges, both in the state and private sectors, in the UK who wish to demonstrate their commitment to action and improvement in relation to race equality in all aspects of their work as educators, employers and community leaders.

To achieve the Charter Mark Holly Lodge Primary Academy completed a comprehensive package of training for governors, senior leaders and middle leaders, and submitted an evaluation detailing their work towards equality so far and an action plan pledging their commitment to ongoing development in this area.

Angelina Idun, Director of Education, SSAT said:

“I am delighted that Holly Lodge Primary Academy has been awarded the Silver RACE Charter Mark. Their application and action plan clearly show a positive ethos and culture which champions and strives for conscious equality and inclusivity throughout the school community. Huge thanks to everyone who came to our big book giveaway this afternoon. We have some lovely books left which are now on the Year 3 patio. Please do come and help yourselves as we would love these books to all find a home. Over £200 was donated this afternoon which is amazing, and will go towards refurbishment of our classroom book corners. If you’d still like to drop a cash donation off, please pop into the office.
