Following on from the amazing success of The Lion King Jnr. last year don't miss your chance to see a live performance of Frozen Jnr. at Mount Carmel R.C. High School on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th July 2026 at 7pm. Tickets are now on sale.
Introducing Jensen W. as The Duke of Weselton
Favourite song from Frozen - Let It Go
Favourite all time Disney character - Aladdin
Dream Role in a Musical - Jason Dean from Heathers
What I am looking forward to most about the show - Shouting at Elsa and Hans
This is Jensen's third role at Mount Carmel with his first being ensemble in Peter Pan in Year Nine, going on to play the main antagonist Scar in The Lion King Jr and finally Weselton: his last role at school before going off to Sixth Form!
Outside of the School Show, Jensen has also participated in many different Performing Arts activities, for example:
He was a member of the Choir for four years before leaving in Year 11
In Year Nine, he won the 'Young Voice' award in the CHARM talent show for having βthe ability to engage and inspire an audience, reflecting his commitment to fostering a strong and inclusive ethos within the schoolβ as well as being able to βchallenge stereotypes."
Choosing Performing Arts as his GCSE option and completing the Gold Arts Award which is the equivalent of an A-level
With his naturally deep voice, his formal demeanour and his acting flexibility, it makes him perfect for the role.

Mount Carmel Year 8 pupils enjoyed a day out of the classroom to visit Grasmere in the Lake District. Both English and Geography were making the most of all that this beautiful little corner of the world has to offer: walks in the stunning scenery, the beautiful shops and village green, and Dove Cottage, home to the early 19th Century poet William Wordsworth.
Pupils enjoyed the scenic coach journey there as we passed lakes, hills and fields. When they got to Grasmere, we saw all four seasons within our first ten minutes of being there, but thankfully everyone was prepared for both sunny spells and sudden showers.
Over the course of the day, pupils rotated round three activities, entering each one with enthusiasm and interest. After a walk in the shadows of Helm Crag, students got to learn about Wordsworth who was inspired by these stunning surroundings, and visit the place where he lived and wrote, before looking at the village and taking part in a fieldwork activity. Each element of the trip complemented the others, and both the Geography and English curriculum were enriched by each other. One of the highlights in Dove Cottage was seeing the early manuscripts written in Wordsworth's own hand and getting to write with a quill and ink!
Sadly, there wasn't time to stop at the iconic Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, but we did walk past it, and the warm, enticing smell was almost as good.
We'll just have to go back next year!

Mount Carmel U15 girls competed at the National Championships in Manchester, making it all the way to the Championship game but unfortunately losing by just one score to Ealing Fields to finish second place in the country.

The girlsβ effort, positivity, commitment and incredible performances all day were an absolute credit to not just Mount Carmel but the North-West region we were representing and the Chicago Bears, who kindly attended and supported the team throughout.

After an amazing visit a few weeks ago from The Moon Rocks, Year 9 science pupils researched Orions re-entry and their safe return back to Earth.
They then created their own parachutes to successfully protect their capsule and crew (an egg!) dropping them from a second floor window.
The winners of this challenge were presented with chocolate for their prizes.
Well done to Year 9 pupils Daniel and Favour who are both in Mr Siddique's class.

Pastoral Leaders Miss Aldis and Mr Ellerton organised a fantastic and very emotional send off for them with a special leaver's assembly.
Form tutors spoke with great emotion and amusement about their form pupils, many of whom have been with them for five years!
Miss Aldis gave a heartfelt message to the year group which reduced many pupils to tears.
A farewell video featuring staff was played and a photo slideshow displaying the most embarrassing photos that could be found from the past five years was shown to the Year 11's.
Headteacher Mr Bowers concluded with a special goodwill message and reminder that we will always be here for them if needed.
Year 11's then signed each others shirts with lots of messages for each other.
All at M.C. wish this year group lots of love and very best wishes for their next step in life.
