Today we revisited a fabulous textile project, full of colour, mark making, planning and sewing designs into card using wool. Such a wonderful process and an absolute joy to see how these creative kids planned and worked through to their final designs! We also finished Keith Haring projects, a fabulous stop motion project and explored the elements of art using various materials and techniques to unify a design + lots of personal projects!

Today’s projects were inspired by two American artists: Alma Thomas and Keith Haring. Watercolour and acrylic painted scenes from our summer holiday memories, in the style of Alma Thomas. Then drawing our own Keith Haring inspired people and animals, painted on shiny foil and a stop motion story in the making! 🤩🌟🌈

Absolutely stunning radial prints by these creative kids today! 🌈 We wrapped up our first 3 days of art making with a stunning lino cut and project, and blown away by the results!! Beautiful work kids, each one taking time to create different vibrant backgrounds using ink, planning their designs, outstanding focused effort with cutting and their prints are simply stunning - we are really looking forward to week 2 next week! ✨

Today we embraced the heat, and constructed and painted absolutely delicious ice creams!!! 🍦✨
These amazing artists also worked on adding finishing details and designs to their vases, various personal projects and created wonderful illustrated scenes to keep cool in the afternoon. Patience, re working, adapting, collaborating, creative thinking and enjoying the process - What a day! 🤩 We are really looking forward to tomorrow!

A wonderful and relaxed day with these artists, taking our time to create Greek & Roman inspired vases inspired by the work of Cleon Peterson. The vases were patiently and beautifully crafted using modroc to hold the structure, and once dry painted with white or black (or both) acrylic paint as a base layer. A work in progress with incredible focus 👌 and we can’t wait to see them all finished this week 🖤🤍
