We the Uncivilised, A Life Story is a documentary film and grassroots movement helping people like you to reconnect in creative community with what matters most. Disillusioned by a story of mindless consumption and alienation, a newly married couple is called to action. Carrying with them their unborn child, they embark on a year-long quest around the UK in search of the seeds of a different story

. We join Lily and Pete on an intimate and life-changing journey as they confront the stark realities of our times, and discover a hidden culture of connection and belonging. A Life Story tells a tale of deep grief and inspired hope. Unearthing structures that perpetuate ecological destruction, while soulfully exploring our humanity and yearning to live in relationship to one another and the natural world. The film features conversations with activists and pioneers of the UK ecological movement, including: Satish Kumar (editor of Resurgence & Ecologist magazine), Polly Higgins (ecocide lawyer), Bruce Parry (explorer and filmmaker), Martin Shaw (School of Myth), Jewels Wingfield (ecofeminist), Mac Macartney (Embercombe founder) and many more.

Sometimes it can feel awkward to reach out...

🌱Anyone who has followed our journey knows we have been working on the vision for Bryn Cynefin for years - heart and soul 💚

🌱 This first manifested as our film and community building project, www.wetheuncivilised.org

🌱 10 years on, it's grown into a land-based project here in South Wales- Bryn Cynefin Permaculture Farm

🌱 We have reached the point where we need your support to take it to the next stage

🌱So, we are putting together a crowdfunding campaign

🌱 We hope you'll join us for this next chapter!

🌱We were honoured to host some incredible activists working in land and social justice, people at the forefront of system change

🌱It's good to be reminded there are many of us, weaving safety nets in this time of global freefall

🌱We are so grateful to all the facilitators, all the people who came to share the space with us, our dream team crew, Caspar and Dora ; Danny Emerson for hosting the open mic with his magical way; the Land & Social Change crew, and the whole BF team

Water storage and rationing helps us to deal with the slower flow rates.

🌱Last week we had to slow down all demands on our spring water system.

🌱 alot of the infrastructure is temporary and low-cost to tide us over until we build our off-grid dwelling (which will be bigger than our little 7m cabin, but not much)

🌱 over time we will also be developing swales and ponds to manage water onsite, multiple rainwater harvest and storage tanks, alongside our spring system for pottable water.

🌱 of course, this all takes time, capacity and money and planning permission, so in the meantime we are working within our current parameters dictated by these factors

Remember this?! In 2015 we ran a crowd funder to finish our film, wetheuncivilised, A Life Story we managed to fulfill the vision,( and get a few awards along the way! )✨️🙌

🌱 We are so young and fresh in this video 😝

🌱 we were part of an incredible community of creative, lovely folk - we couldn't have done it without them!

🌱 Still, it feels like only yesterday...

🌱Over 10 years on, here we are, landing wetheuncivilised in a place
