We are on the hunt for some unwanted stuffed animal toys (the larger the better!!) for a wee project we're working on. Classic us leaving things to the last minute we need them in the next 5-7days. ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ
So if anyone has any animals (any variety) ready for a new life please let us know. (Or if anyone sees any in any charity shops that could work too)
Thanks

๐ Wisdom Wednesday | Neuroplasticity & Why It Matters ๐
Your childโs brain is built to learn, grow, and rewire itselfโfor life. That ability is called neuroplasticity: the brainโs lifelong power to adapt by forming new neural connections through everyday experience.
โจ From a young age (especially the first 3โ5 years), the brain creates millions of new connections as kids learn sensory, motor, and language skills, making movement a powerful โbrain builder.โ
๐โโ๏ธ Sports & movement turbo charge this process by strengthening neural networks. The more varied the movement, the more the brain builds a stronger, more flexible โmovement vocabulary.โ
๐ Tough Monkeys at The Movement Bothy (Ages 2โ12)
Our Tough Monkeys programme helps kids develop a wide range of movement skills, so they become coordinated, confident individuals in sport and everyday life.
When children (and adults) can control their bodies, for example balancing, and coordinating themselves to use multiple movement patterns simultaneously, they tend to navigate new situations with more confidence, learn motor tasks faster, and adapt more easily when challenges change. That confidence also supports focus and emotional regulation, because their body feels capable.
๐ช Key Pillars We Train (Because Brain + Body Grow Together)
*Balancing: core stability and body awareness in space
*Multi-planar movement: coordination, strength, and cognitive gains
*Crossing the midline: boosts fine motor skills (great for writing!)
*Heavy work(carrying/pushing/pulling): regulates the sensory system
*Climbing & scrambling: builds strength and stability to help prevent injury
๐ง The โGolden Ageโ (For Ages 5โ8)
This is where the brain is extra receptive. Rapid myelination helps improve coordination, balance, and reaction time.
Thatโs why we focus on fundamental movement skills (not just sport tactics). Variety now = versatility for years.
๐ Join The Movement Bothy and let your child build the brain-ready movement foundation theyโll use for life.
