10 S5 pupils and 2 staff are planning a trip to Morocco during October 2018. The trip will include a community aid project in a school, in a town on the western fringes of the Sahara desert, and a personal challenge for each member to climb to the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the tallest mountain in the Atlas mountain range in northern Africa. Part of the requirements is for the group to raise the funds to cover the cost of the trip themselves. We are doing this as a group in school alongside the Youth Achievement Award (YAA), which will accredit us for the learning we develop along our journey. Each individual member needs to raise £1995 and overall amount that needs to be raised is £21,945.
