Welcome to Our New Family Engagement Officer, Miss Rhian Smith

We are delighted to introduce Miss Rhian Smith, our new Family Engagement Officer (FEO).

Many of you will already know Miss Smith from her previous roles within our school as a class teacher and Additional Learning Needs Co-ordinator (ALNCo). Throughout her time at Cwmbach Church in Wales Primary School, she has built strong relationships with pupils, families and staff, and has always been passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.

As our Family Engagement Officer, Miss Smith will work to bridge the gap between home, school and the wider community, helping to support children's learning, attendance, wellbeing and overall success. Her role is centred on ensuring that families feel supported, valued and connected to school life.

Some of Miss Smith's key responsibilities will include:
Building positive and trusting relationships with parents, carers and school staff.

Supporting and promoting good attendance and punctuality.

Signposting families to relevant support services and agencies when needed.

Encouraging parental engagement through workshops, coffee mornings and community events.

Providing pastoral support and acting as a listening ear for children and families.

Supporting the school's safeguarding responsibilities and promoting pupil welfare.

With her extensive knowledge of our school community and her wealth of experience supporting children and families,

Miss Smith is ideally placed to take on this important role. She is looking forward to working closely with families and helping to strengthen the partnership between home and school.

Please join us in giving Miss Rhian Smith a very warm welcome to her new position as our Family Engagement Officer. We are excited to see the positive impact she will have on our school community.

🌍 Miss Davies and the Global Gang need your help! 🌍

Do you have any unwanted wellies tucked away at home? We would be delighted to give them a new lease of life by turning them into colourful planters for our school grounds.

If you have a spare pair that your children have outgrown, we would be very grateful for your donation. Just pop them to our school.

Thank you for helping us brighten up our outdoor spaces! 🌷🌼🌱

We have had the most wonderful first day back at Cwmbach CIW! ❤️💚 It was so lovely to welcome everyone back, see all those wonderful smiling faces and look out at a sea of red and green uniform in the school hall during our first worship together. It really reminded us what a special family we have here at Cwmbach CIW.

Today we introduced our new Cwmbach promise: ROOTED & READY 🌳🌱. We want our children to be rooted in love and faith, and ready to learn and grow. Together, we will plant strong roots, helping every child to feel loved, valued and confident so that they can grow from tiny acorns into mighty oaks. We are so excited for another fabulous year of growing together through love, faith and learning. ❤️✝️📚🌱

Please ask your children about the assembly we had today to explain our new promise.
Ask them ‘Cwmbach CIW are you ready?’ Wait for their reply!

This weekend marks 6 months since we lost a dear friend to mental health.

Over the past 6 months, the love and support shown by friends, family, and our community has been truly incredible. Seeing so many people come together for one another has meant more than words can say.

Bean Bros started with the simple goal of serving great coffee, bringing people together, and building a community. We never imagined how much that community would come to mean to us. Whether it’s supporting each other through difficult times, meeting at the Evans 11 Run Club, or simply providing a space for people to talk, we’re incredibly grateful to be part of it.

This Sunday, 2nd August, 100% of our Cakes & Bakes sales will be donated to Big Moose, supporting men’s mental health.

We’ll also be hosting the as usual at 11:00am.

We’d love to see you there. ❤️

Today was a very special day at our school as we officially opened the Mr Evans Memorial Garden.

We were delighted to be joined by Mr Evans’ family and friends, along with our Governors, parents and members of the school community, to mark this meaningful occasion. The sunshine shone beautifully on the garden, making the event even more special as we came together to celebrate Mr Evans’ life and legacy.

The memorial garden now provides a peaceful space at our school where pupils, staff and visitors can sit, reflect and remember the many happy times shared with Mr Evans. We hope it will be a place of comfort, kindness and reflection for years to come.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this garden possible and to all who joined us today to honour Mr Evans’ memory. 💙
