You're speaking, and the subject changes. Or someone jumps in with their own loss, their own story, before you even get to finish.
If you are experiencing grief, loss or dealing with trauma, you probably have found yourself in situations where you were trying to voice your truth, to put your pain into words and eventually you ended up realizing that you weren't actually heard.
That is why many of us feel that we are to stay silent while grieving or battling trauma. And we end up isolating and shutting people out.
👉 As a grief counselor & transgenerational analyst, I can tell you that absolutely all of the people I help report that they found it difficult to find a place where they didn’t have to worry about what they were going to say, if they were going to be a bummer, or even worse, a burden.
They all needed to find a place where it is totally safe for them to speak, and allow themselves to say the truths that were silenced. And to be actually heard, and validated. Not to be interrupted, debated, nor to have their feelings nuanced.
💜 This is what I offer. In every space I hold, in individual sessions or groups, you can speak your truth without censoring yourself, without filtering your vocabulary and without fear of being interrupted or invalidated.
What you feel is legitimate. What moves through you is not up for debate. This is why Listening is my number one value.
If you recognize yourself in these words, and you are looking for a safe space, don't hesitate to DM me.
💜 I am Dania, grief counselor and transgenerational analyst. My therapeutic approach is both decolonial and spiritual.
