Congratulations to our July trainees on completing their CELTA course! You have all been amazing!
During the final lesson our trainees from Kuwait, Czechia and Australia provided an authentic live listening experience for our Alsatian students, sharing tipping practices in their own countries, which then led to a lovely discussion task. This is part of what makes CELTA such a great course: the mix of culture, the genuine exchanges and the hard work in planning which always bears fruit in the lesson.
Thank you for a wonderful month guys, and good luck with everything in the future!

A CELTA centre is defined by the trainers who work there, by the city it is in, by the clarity and flow of its onboarding and admin... But none of it matters without the trainees.
We are very proud of our alumni, and this page is a great place to introduce you to some of them.
This is Alex Diamond. Alex passed the CELTA in December 2025. Based in Antibes, he soon found work with a couple of private language schools in Sophia Antipolis teaching adults one to one. Becoming CELTA qualified has given him stability and a great second career path for the future after a difficult period. In the summer he continues to teach the amazing activity of scuba diving in Golfe Juan (between Antibes and Cannes).

Strasbourg is always a great place to do your CELTA - but perhaps especially so in September.
1. There are fewer tourists! The city rests between the hot summer and the (very beautiful) madness of the Christmas markets. It's quiet, serene and very, very beautiful.
2. It will not be hot (should this be Reason 1?). Strasbourg is lovely in September, warm, but not hot and not rainy. You should be able to work on your CELTA assignments in one of the beautiful parks (like the Orangerie park or the Citadelle) or go for bike ride along the Canale de la Bruche in a T-shirt or a light sweater. The heatwaves will be a thing of the past (oh, and by the way, our training centre is air-conditioned).
2. The cafeteria at the Pole Formation CCI, where we run our CELTA courses, is open and serves a variety of traditional Alsatian dishes, FRench and international cuising, poke bowls, sandwiches made with amazing French baguette and lovely patisserie. This makes life on a busy CELTA course massively easier - and, well, more palatable. )
4. Our practice students are back from their holidays - you will have nice-sized groups to teach.
5. There are still a few places available. Venez nombreux/nombreuses!

We are now halfway in our July CELTA course, and it feels very special. We have wonderful trainees, a great trainer-in-training, and also... drumroll... we are now an independent CELTA centre. We are firmly within the ELT Hub family - but we have been awarded our very own Cambridge number!

Many of you will have had Neil McCutcheon as your CELTA trainer, and we are so happy to have him back with a workshop on Task-Based Learning.
"Too often, lessons are “upside down”: accuracy dominates before learners have the chance to use language meaningfully. This session argues for a fluency-led alternative, linking usage-based SLA research with classroom practice in TBLT, Dogme and emergent language. Teachers will leave with strategies, tasks and tweaks to put communication back on top—where it belongs."

CELTA is 64 years old... It was created in 1962.
ELT Hub Strasbourg is a little younger: we are 16 this year!
