This is a page to help coordinate the 40th Class Reunion of the Henry County HIgh School, Class of 1976. PLEASE, PLEASE help me communicate this to the members!

I have set this page up for helping to contact and communicate with the members of the Class of 1976. I am not trying to coordinate the reunion itself, but I did want to help gather addresses and contacts. THANKS!!!

We had a great time yesterday at the tailgate party for the 50TH celebration of HCHS. As you can tell from the pictures, we didn’t have a big crew but we represented the class of 1976 with great spirit! We joined the class of 1975 and a wonderful time was had by all. I’d say we had the best food on the campus!!!

Don’t forget the dedication of the Little Theater to Linda Wilson Miller at 2:00. At 3:00 a time capsule will be buried, along with an annual from 1976 which we all signed and wrote any comments or memories we wanted to share. If you’d like to come on Sunday, please do so and let those in charge know you graduated in 1976....it might not be too late to sign the annual. I don’t have any knowledge about that, but it wouldn’t hurt to ask.

My grandmother used to say, “Give me flowers while I’m still alive, not after I die.” That makes sense to me. I’ve been to too many funerals over the last few years of friends and classmates. It just reminds me that I need to be a better friend and reach out to spend time with my friends and family while they are still here....

Enjoy the day my friends❀

Our class tailgate site will be at the soccer field (dugout side) tomorrow. I plan to get there about 4:00. Don’t forget your side dishes for the picnic ham and fried chicken....desserts are always welcome 😋 Bring your chairs and drinks...no alcohol on the school campus. We will be joining the class of 1975. It will be a lot of fun to see classmates we haven’t seen in a while. Bring pictures of your grandbabies and kids!!

Great news regarding the tailgate party for the 50TH celebration football game on September 27th! We are going to be able to join the class of 1975!! Randy Crutcher is going to deep fry a batch of chicken, I’m bringing a picnic ham with slider buns and Ricky Lewis is helping with the cooking. I’m certain there will be other meats there, but if anyone is planning to come, it would be helpful if you could bring side dishes that would compliment the chicken and ham. Desserts are always welcome as well. Don’t forget your beverage as it will likely be pretty warm outside. Just a reminder: no alcohol on the high school campus. In addition, don’t forget your chairs. It is certain to be a lot of fun and a great time to catch up with old friends. We can try to sit together at the football game. I believe the high school administrators are working to have seating available to accommodate us.

The gala originally scheduled for Saturday night was canceled due to lack of interest and low ticket sales.

This is Vicki Snyder. Are any 1976 HCHS graduates interested in tailgating at the 50TH celebration on Friday, September 27th? If so, I think it would be fun to join other classes close to us....1974, 1975, 1977, etc..... and have a joint tailgate party before the football game. I welcome any thoughts or comments.

Saturday night there will be a dinner at 5:00 pm and tickets are $25.00 each. If there are any tickets left, you can purchase them from the HCHS main office. They have the information as well.

Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm there will be an Open House at the Little Theater, which will be dedicated to Linda Wilson Miller. At 3:00 pm a time capsule will be buried and pieces of the Gamlin Gymnasium will be available for purchase. A 50TH Anniversary Exhibit will also be on display.

The HCHS 40 year Class Reunion was a huge success. The food was delicious...the music was great...but the fellowship with friends was the BEST!! We missed all the folks who were not able to come (we probably talked sbout you though), and we rememered the classmates who have passed from this life to the next. THANKS TO ALL THAT HELPED MAKE THIS A FUN NIGHT!!

We have a crowd gathering at the tailgate. You are really missing a good fun time...come on out. Come as you are...we want to see you! And we know you want to see us!! LOL!

We will NOT BE meeting on Thursday night Sept. 21. The Enoch Building will not be available until Friday. We are discussing going over after the ball game to decorate. We will see you at the tailgating at 5pm Friday!

18/09/2016

September 22 is our next meeting...we will be decorating the Enoch Building at the Fairgrounds that evening. With many hands, it should not take that long to get the job done. I hope everyone can come out and help.

ALSO...We are trying to get the final count on the number of people that will be attending and EXPECTING TO EAT...I will be turning in the final count to the caterer on September 21.
