In July 2007, Chef Eric Fraudeau opened a small cooking school in Montmartre and started teaching French cooking in English. Nineteen years later, we are still here! We put together a short look at how Cook'n With Class started and where it has taken us.

Butter, dough, and a few careful folds are all that stand between you and croissants that your family bake together in Paris.

In our Croissant en Famille class, adults and kids ages 6 to 12 work together as a duo to laminate, roll, and shape their own croissants and pain au chocolats, and after baking and tasting you’ll have plenty to share for later.

This is our little street in Montmartre, rue Baudelique, back in the early 1900s! Chocolat Vinay had a shop here. So did a local milk seller, who felt the need to write "Bon Lait" right on the sign, just in case anyone had doubts about the milk. And it seems like half the neighborhood turned out to stand in this photo.

Now, and since 2007, our cozy cooking school has become a part of the street's history as the first cooking school in Paris to teach market to table cooking in English.

Buttes-Chaumont is worth the climb. Jardin du Luxembourg is almost like a peaceful open air museum. Parc de Belleville has a view most people walk past without knowing it's there.

Every year on June 21st, the streets of Paris transform into a vibrant concert venue, and everyone gets a free ticket. Every street corner, every park, every bar terrace. The music is free, all day and into the night.

And in thankfully city plans to back it with proper summer infrastructure:

💦 Over 1,300 free public fountains across Paris, plus 1,500 businesses in the "𝘐𝘤𝘪 𝘫𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘭'𝘌𝘢𝘶 𝘥𝘦 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴" network that will refill a water bottle for free.

🚻 600 public restrooms stay open 24/7.

🍃 Smoking is banned in parks, gardens, and at bus stops

👏 Bars with the 𝘍ê𝘵𝘦𝘻 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴 label are trained specifically to prevent nighttime trouble.
