Paris Olympics Marathon, Finished in 3:34:47 | A New Beginning for Me
The atmosphere at the Paris Olympic Marathon was incredible. I truly felt the passion of the Olympics.
Finishing in 3:34:47 was something I enjoyed. Among the enthusiastic cheers of the spectators, I held back my pace, remembering every word my coach told me: easy run, Flossie!
After my injury, I didn’t run for 75 days. I spent 40 days in a wheelchair and on crutches and 34 days with an ankle brace. That left me only two weeks to train: the first week for recovery runs and the second week for endurance training. Luckily, my mountain training in Chamonix paid off, allowing me to complete the marathon endurance training efficiently.
After the race, I felt my body was adapting, almost like I didn’t get enough. My muscles weren’t sore at all. In the past, my quads would start feeling the burn after 35 kilometers, but maybe because I ran slower this time (and no, I’m not bragging; there’s nothing to brag about with this time).
After the 15th kilometer, I knew my injury was behind me. Those dark days were finally over. I’ve reflected on it a thousand times and felt emotional a thousand times (I wanted to cry…but I didn’t).
I hope this story can encourage other runners who are currently injured. Injuries do pass, and our athletic abilities won’t decline much because of them. After 4-6 weeks of recovery, you’ll soon return to your pre-injury level (except for surgical injuries, which take longer to heal). We must accept our injuries, learn from them, and let them help us run even farther.
Flossie is starting anew, and I hope to see you all again on the course. ❤️
PS: If anyone has recently suffered an ankle injury, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message. I hope my experience can offer you a bit of help. ❤️

Three months after my injury, I finally got back on race.
I will enjoy the race, don’t pursue results. Just run easily.
My bib’s 7774. If you see me in the race, please cheer me on.
Thank you 🥰

Paris Marathon Finish time: 3:03:49
For this outcome, I wasn’t actually surprised; I’ll keep working hard, but mostly, I’m moved. Having participated in numerous races, both trail running and marathons, I’ve never shed a tear. But this time, as I left the medical room, my eyes were red... I honestly couldn’t hold back. It wasn’t because I suffered from heatstroke myself, but witnessing so many people collapsing due to their passion, foaming at the mouth, really pained me. As I pushed towards the finish line today, I thought I could control my body, but based on the expression on my face and my gait, the staff forcibly escorted me to the medical room. I was immersed in ice for 10 minutes for emergency cooling. After the soak, my body chilled, blood pressure, body temperature, and blood oxygen levels were measured. I stayed in the medical room for an hour, deeply moved; their service and care were indeed 100%.
The Paris Marathon is truly worth running. Setting aside the climbs and weather conditions, the scale and experience of this event are no less than the six major marathons. (This year’s full marathon had 55,000 participants). In 2019, as a marathon enthusiast, I ran it once, and since then, I couldn’t forget it. The enthusiasm of the Parisians, the atmosphere of the event, the provisions, and the race route, I believe, make it the best marathon I’ve ever run. Mineral water is provided in whole bottles, with the caps already removed. These details are sufficient proof of the dedication behind the Paris Marathon. The variety of food available after the race is also impressive. If you’re considering running a marathon event in Europe, I highly recommend the Paris Marathon; you will love it ❤️

Twenty minutes before starting, I took a painkiller because I was on my period; this was a wrong choice.
When I ran the fourth kilometer, I had severe pain in my stomach. I adjusted my state and decided to complete today’s training.
My stomach hurts after the run, and I‘m trying to drink more water to help my body metabolize the painkillers as quickly as possible.
I'm so stupid, but I will be back soon

Life is not a race, and standards should not define human existence. Similarly, age, often misused to gauge whether one can pursue new dreams or embark on new journeys, actually lacks decisive power.
We should break free from the boundaries set by age because every moment of life is filled with infinite possibilities. There should be no ”too late,“ only ”starting now.“ Life waits for no one, yet it‘s not confined to any specific timetable. Your worth and potential should not be restricted by your age but defined by your passion, determination, and courage.
Flo Meiler, now 90 years old, began pole vaulting at 65 and has since earned over 1040 medals 🏅.
No matter where you are, remember, your life is defined by you, not by your age. It cannot determine our potential and possibilities. Regardless of age, never relinquish your passion for life and dreams.
As we age, our passion should only grow stronger.
