When a simple breathing technique turns out to be so much more for your body and your brain ❄️
This pranayama is known as the „cooling breath.“ If you can roll your tongue into a tube, it’s called Sheetali. If you can’t, simply part your lips as if drinking through a straw. That variation is called Sheetkari. I teached it in all my classes this week.🌬️
The technique creates a refreshing sensation in the body. The slow, continuous rhythm of the breath also gives your nervous system something it loves: calm, predictable input.
The key is to inhale slowly and steadily through the mouth without forcing the breath. If you pull the air in too aggressively, you can actually create more heat instead of less. Once the inhale is complete, gently close the mouth and exhale slowly through the nose.
This process slightly cools the air before it enters the body, which can help reduce the sensation of heat while encouraging the body and mind to settle.
Actually like many animals regulate their temperature in a similar way.. using their mouth or beak to cool themselves down 🐶🦜
Sit down confortable and try 5-11 slow rounds and see how your body and mind respond. 🌀
Let me know how you feel afterwards🤗
