Weekend, holidays…
I used to romanticize how holidays would feel when I have kids. I focused on the beautiful, cute, loving photos of my friends and family with their kids… Without seeing the emotional toll it was taking on them.
Having as little as 3 minutes for myself, lying on the beach, was a huge victory after I became a mom. And I could not even enjoy that because my brain just kept running (‘Did I put enough sun cream on her? Is she going to get hungry soon? What do we do for dinner, so that she doesn’t go to sleep too late and get cranky?”)
Quite far from the picture-perfect motherhood holidays… 😀
What were some naive holiday dreams you had before the parenting reality hit you? :)

When I could not stop yelling at my toddler girl, I looked for advice in all the parenting books. And the best advice I got?
Just "be patient, take a breath, stay calm, count till 10”.
But how can you stay calm when you’re running on empty, with no time to rest, and you just said 10 times to your toddler not to hit his baby sister with the wooden block?
Those tears, frustration, and overwhelming mom guilt are not proof that you're failing. They are your nervous system screaming out for safety.
True healing starts the moment you stop judging yourself and shift the question from "What is wrong with me?" to "What happened to me?"
Because the more automatic and intense your reaction is, the deeper it is in your nervous system.
The cycle can stop with you. 💛
What is one small way you can give yourself a mental pause to recover a little right now?
