A Discovery while in Montpellier, FR
An ancient Church Sainte- Anne that has been transformed into a contemporary art space, Carre Sainte-Anne.
Also the french photographer and street artist JR and his participatory installation exhibit - Aventice.
A tree with leaves made of 10,000 hands from around the world. They symbolize hidden seeds that were brought from Spain and Africa to the mediterranean back in the middle ages. The plants that grew, are now integrated into the bio diversity of life. And are no longer seen as invasive - Including poppies and cornflowers!
Another moment of discovering art and appreciating diversity and connection.

We donned hard hats and visited the Klamath River to tour 4 dams in various stages of demolition.
We were invited by Olivia and her colleagues at KRRC (Klamath River Renewal Corp) on a special 2 day tour to see these 4 dam sites along the Klamath River in both OR and CA.
This demolition signifies great breakthroughs for salmon along the Klamath River. The KRRC project, involving the Yurok Tribe, Karuk Tribe and Shasta Indian Nation is removing the dams while restoring the river beds.
Now, after 100 years the river will once again flow. Note in photos how far water has already receded in the reservoirs.
These dams have blocked fish passage for over 100 years. The river restoration will reopen 400 miles of historic spawning salmon habitat. Salmon will be able to return to the river and spawn in their native habitat. It restores the salmon runs for multiple species of salmon.
Salmon can once again be a food source, a resource and a livelihood.
One of many fun facts - over 3 million young fish have been released into the river just this spring.
Here’s to optimism, successful planning and implementation.
Congrats to the KRRC!

After making multiple trips to and from Beaufort, SC to care for my mother in the hospital, I finally took the time to visit the Sheldon Church historic ruin."
I say, finally because I first heard of this church decades ago when I worked with an architectural photographer whose award winning photos made the church seem eerie and far away.
Leaving the expansive views of the protected marshes on the barrier islands the road narrows. The trees grow tall, and Spanish moss drips from the branches. Gates of plantations serve as reminders of the brutal history of this land, where enslaved people toiled and some tried to escape to freedom.
Now as I wander the grounds of the old church, the dense trunks and branches of the live oaks frame my photos. The ground feels heavy with the spirits of past people. All that remains of the church are the tall brick arches, pillars, and the shell of the building.

2 weeks of moon evolution. A 2022 xmas eve crescent moon off the CA Pacific Coast and 2 weeks later a full moon shining through NC hickory and oak trees in the new year of 2023.
Beauty in the night sky.
May the year be bountiful and gentle for all.

Here I am surrounded by floral energy. My posts often feature gardens in their many forms because they inspire and ignite creativity and general wellbeing. The energy enlivens conversations. The energy also calms.
While in conversation with coaching clients, I draw from my reiki training and stay aware of energy. It helps to find the still point within confusion, overwhelm and change. At those moments new ideas can germinate or form.
Dalloway Terrace, Bloomsbury London is a lovely outside option for dinner on a late summer evening.

So many ways to blossom and permeate the air with intoxicating scent. 3 weeks of gloriously scented gardenias bursting forth during the early cooler summer days. (Swipe left)
In my own garden I can see them in context of the trees, the house, the rocks, the pink spirea. Protected from the afternoon blazing sun, they have opened slowly with vigor.
In contrast, my neighbor’s burst forth all at once. Each year, upon her invitation, I get a moment to cut a huge bouquet from her south facing hedge. My head is literally immersed in the blossoms as I cut.

Power, light, strength and concentric circles of beauty for you today.
My eye saw the design and was almost blinded by the light, but the camera caught it!
