🇫🇷 Dans ma quête permanente pour enrichir mon vocabulaire — afin de pouvoir ensuite enrichir celui de mes élèves et leurs cours — je me suis souvenue d’un magnifique site web appelé The Marginalian. Je m’y étais abonnée à l’époque où il s’appelait encore Brain Pickings, et je savourais chaque semaine les e-mails annonçant la parution de la dernière lettre.

Maria Popova ne manque jamais de partager son enthousiasme pour la poésie, l’art et le design, ainsi que ses réflexions philosophiques sur les profondeurs et les sommets de l’expérience humaine.

Je suis ravie de continuer à me former pour rester en phase avec les besoins des apprenant·es d’aujourd’hui, notamment en développant mes compétences numériques pour l’enseignement de l’anglais.

Grâce à la formation « Digital competences for teaching English » du British Council, je découvre de nouvelles façons d’utiliser les outils en ligne pour favoriser la collaboration, la communication et l’évaluation formative en cours de langue.

Mon objectif est de tirer le meilleur parti du digital pour adapter chaque séance, proposer des activités plus interactives et offrir un accompagnement encore plus personnalisé à mes étudiant·es.

🐣 Easter in the UK – Sweet Traditions and Springtime Treats 🌷

Easter in the UK isn’t only about mountains of chocolate (though we’re definitely not complaining! 🍫). It’s also a time for getting together with family, sharing delicious food, and celebrating the start of spring.

You’ll often find:

Hot cross buns – soft, spiced buns with a little cross on top, usually enjoyed on Good Friday.

Easter eggs – from colourful, decorated eggs to big chocolate ones hidden for children to find.

Sunday roast or roast lamb – a cosy family meal to finish off the weekend.

It’s one of those lovely times of year when everything feels a bit brighter and more hopeful ☀️

Anyone who knows me, know I like a cup of tea. (or cuppa tea ;-) - une tasse de thé).

And the arguments that ensue amongst English people about the best tea... Co-op 99, Yorkshire Tea, Fortnum and Mason's.

Me, I like Yorkshire Tea. I buy it in bulk when I go to the UK !

There are also discussions about whether to put the milk in first. If you use a teapot (une théière) then you can put the milk in first.
