What does a day at Pyrenean Creative Writing Retreats look like?
Actually, it depends. It’s Spain, so we go with the flow. 😀
Most mornings, we gather to talk about craft techniques and how we can apply them to our work. Sometimes, if everyone’s feeling stuck, we pull prompts out of a hat and see what unexpected connections we spark on the page. We select prompts precisely for this: to loosen the grip of your inner critic and open up space for memories to emerge and imagination to flow.
After the morning session, you write, you think and if the mood strikes, you take a walk along the quiet nearby trails.
Before dinner, we come together for pintxos, as they’re called in the Basque Country (aka tapas) to talk about the day’s writing and where it has taken us.
Throughout, there’s plenty of food! Three delicious meals a day, healthy snacks, and a chef who’s happy to accommodate dietary needs.
And all day, every day: quiet, pastoral walks, private space, and focused time that allows you to concentrate solely on your writing.
Only two places left.
