The Saint Lucia Aikido Federation was founded in 2005 by Christian Brown under the guidance of Dr. Hiroaki Izumi, 6th Dan Aikido, 5th Dan Shotokan Karate.

Dr. Izumi, founded the Barbados Aikido Federation whilst working with the Royal Barbados Police Force in 2004. From 2004 to 2013 he guided Aikidoka in the West Indies and helped create the West Indies Aikido Federation. Dr. Izumi's philosophy on martial arts in general and in particular Aikido was different from that of other instructors of the art in that he believed that through the in depth stu

dy of the bio-mechanics of all martial art techniques, one could develop a powerful and effective means of defense.

Jinn Yuu Gi Aikido Saint Lucia would like to welcome all Aikidoka and other martial artist to a one day Aikido practice seminar in memory of Shihan Hiroaki Izumi, Saturday, February 27th 2016 at Stonefield Resort, Soufriere, Saint Lucia. This seminar will be lead by Michael Korpesio San dan, Canada, with assistance from Christopher Charles, Shodan, Barbados.

Time: 9am - 4pm with a 90 min lunch break.

Cost: EC$50
