The quest to find my Danish heroes
A place to pay tribute to the Danish heroes of September 1987 and a space for the refugee rescue victims to express their stories and gratitude.
One act of courage. Many transformed lives
This page is to help unite the September 1987 "boat people" refugee rescue victims to their saviors. My quest is to locate the Danes that saved my life and the lives of so many others when I was just two years old. In September of 1987, my family along with 200+ other refugees fled Vietnam by boat after the Vietnam War. We drifted at sea for 11 days afte

A special day in the Faroe Islands with Captain's family.

The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate... Psalms 103:13
Wishing every dad much blessing on this special day of thankfulness, reconciliation, forgiveness, love and closure.
Today is Father’s Day and it has been a day of contemplation filled with many emotions.
Reflecting on my past and present.
My biological father passed away on 1/30/19 from cancer. It was an emotional time however I’m very thankful I was there spending many special moments with him and it will forever be in my heart.
Although I had much grief it comforts me knowing he’s with Jesus in heaven where there’s no more pain, tears and suffering; a place where dad is having an awesome time filled with happiness, love, joy, peace. 🙂 It really bring smiles to my heart thinking about that.
I know all dads are not perfect just as we are not ourselves however I believe often it's the imperfections that help create us to be that special individual we all are today. It’s not simply about the rainbows but also the storms and sleepless nights that are blessings in disguise. Without the rain there are no rainbows. Blessings can come from storms and healing thru tears. Whatever depth of the valleys we experience in life is what gives us that Much More peaks of mountains in happiness.
Its not the comforts of the world that gives us character but the trials and the aching of this life that we learn, apply and endure.
I feel very blessed and thankful that I've got to experience many things in life.
Without our dads we would have no life and without life we would miss all the blessings from the special people in our lives.
In the bigger spectrum of life there really is no Good, Bad or Indifferent but simply all encompassing as one. And its up to us how we will use it and live.
Special remembrance to my biological father who has given me life.
To my step father who has taken me in as his daughter.
To our honorary father Captain Pall Jensen who rescued and saved 209 brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, and grandparents from a sinking boat.
And most importantly to my Father in heaven Jesus Christ my Lord and savior who has given me the gift of eternal life. Without Him nothing could've been possible.
Thru them I’ve been reborn and given life 4 times. Thank you for the gift. I love you all 🙂
Sending much luv to all my friends and family. Have a wonderful Father's Day! 🎉💕🇺🇸🇫🇴

This is one of my favorite time of the year. Time for giving, hugging, loving, eating, and cheering. A celebration of birth. Birth of new life, new day, new hope, and new smile. Grateful for what has already been done for us and excited what is to come before us. I would like to share a gift I made for the family and friends of Alice Riis Rescue. A video that I would express my gratitude for the unsung heroes. A journey where I have made new friends and a new family. And I am very excited to spend this holiday season with them.

This mission project tremendously blessed me in so many ways. My sincerest thank you to everyone, especially those who helped make what seemed impossible into reality. I’ve made wonderful new friends and family with renewed inspiration. Most importantly I want to thank God for His Grace and putting the right people at the right time in every single incident...a humbling experience. This has given me broader perspectives of my life, physically and spiritually.
Working many late nights on the mission project was not in vain but blessings of miracles. Thank you all for being my miracle. Tusind tak til mine venner! Goodbye was difficult. Missing my Faroe Islands family already, especially the little munchkins. This trip was by far the most meaningful trip of my life! Thank you everyone for being apart of it. Rannfrí Vang Petrina Venned Jensen S Venned
Legends has it that a man from Mikladalur kept the Kopakonan, a seal woman from returning to the sea by locking up her seal skin and made her his wife for many years until one day he forgot the key and she escaped back to the sea. Later he killed all her seal family and so she cursed the village. Now, it so happened from time to time that men get drowned at sea or fall off from top of cliffs. Glad we didn't fall off the cliff. It was so fun hiking and learning about Faroese folk tales.
My favorite part of family reunion is cooking and eating together.

I big thank you to Mr. Per Nykjaer Jensen and Mr. Jesper Jensen for a warm welcome to Svendborg. We enjoyed seeing the city from the 100 years old boat tour, getting educated at the shipyard museum, learning how the locals eat, and having coffee and tea in a beautiful Svendborg home. Also, receiving a surprise gift of Alice Riis flag during the 1987 rescue, and local newspaper interview. It was fulfilling for my family to have the opportunity to walk on the same ground where Alice Riis was born.
