The MicSem had the opportunity to welcome Political Advisor Francesca Fuentes of the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia to the campus of Yap Catholic High School and the library. She’s on a tour of the Micronesian region, and is currently on Yap for the last leg of her visits.
We wish her a pleasant visit to Yap and a safe return to Manila. Merci beaucoup de nous avoir rendu visite!

Micronesia Seminar Library Opens at Yap Catholic High School

A special ceremony was held on May 14, 2025, at Yap Catholic High School to celebrate the arrival of the Micronesia Seminar (MicSem) Library in Yap. This important event was attended by Acting Governor Thomas G. Tun, Father Francis S.J., Father Rich, local government leaders, current and former members of Congress, staff from the Department of Education, and traditional chiefs from the Council of Pilung.
The MicSem Library holds decades of valuable historical stories, documents, and photographs. It is now available for students, researchers, and community members to learn more about the history and culture of Micronesia.
During the event, Father Francis shared his gratitude and appreciation to everyone who helped make the transfer of the library to Yap possible. He thanked all the guests for their support and presence.
The opening of the MicSem Library in Yap is a step toward preserving and sharing the region's cultural and historical heritage.
