"True leadership is not about title or pride — Ratu Sukuna taught us that rank is not ornament, but a call to serve with wisdom, humility, and purpose."

Today, Lewa SDA School commemorated the life and legacy of the late Ratu Sir Josefa Vanayaliyali Sukuna, a true visionary and national hero of Fiji. Through heartfelt speeches and moments of reflection, students and staff honoured his wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the people of Fiji. His legacy continues to inspire future generations to lead with humility, service, and purpose.

Celebrating Fiji Day at School
Part 1 #

This year, our school proudly celebrated Fiji Day with an exciting program that highlighted our rich culture and community spirit.

The day began with a vibrant march around the school compound, where students showcased their noble blue colors and waved our national flag with pride. Selected students from each class donned traditional costumes from our neighboring countries, including Samoa, Tuvalu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, India, Australia, New Zealand, and of course, Fiji. This colorful display reflected our diverse heritage and unity.

The second part of the celebration focused on traditional food preparation. Students eagerly participated in cooking various local dishes, including lelete, tatavu, kokoda, miji, vakalavalava, vudi vakasoso, qalu, tavioka yaca, uto tavu, and uto vakaloloa. The highlight was the lovo, which catered to everyone and filled the air with tantalizing aromas.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our parents and guardians for their unwavering support and dedication. A special thank you to the Tako and the Lavo who joined us, helping to make this celebration a memorable one.

Happy 54th birthday to our beloved Fiji! Vinaka vakalevu to all who participated and contributed to this wonderful day.
