International Students Sports Day 🏆🌏

On 29 July 2026, our international students came together for an exciting day of sports, fun, teamwork and cultural exchange! ⚽🏐🏃‍♀️

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students from different countries and backgrounds to connect outside the classroom, build friendships and enjoy some friendly competition. From cheering each other on to showing off their sporting skills, the day was filled with energy, laughter and great team spirit! 🙌

A big Vinaka vakalevu to everyone who participated, supported the teams and helped make the event a success. 💙

The premiere of SINA is almost here - get your tickets now!

After a 3-year hiatus from creating and presenting large-scale theatrical productions, the OCACPS team is so excited to bring SINA to life, which is a renewed interpretation of the well-loved story 'Sina and the Eel' to Suva.

The show is also a celebratory moment to mark the performative return of the Oceania Dance Theatre and Pasifika Voices, and to introduce the members of the Oceania Dance Academy (our training programme for entry into the Oceania Dance Theatre).

Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to witness and to welcome the return of these memorable OCACPS productions!

Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.ticketmax.com.fj/VTNGV with prices ranging from $25.00 - $50.00 per ticket. Depending on the number remaining, tickets may also be available at the door (this will be confirmed and communicated by COB on Thursday 06 August).

There are still a few VIP tickets available for purchase for the opening evening (Friday 07 August); these tickets include red-carpet entry, a cocktail event and reserved seating for the production. 🇨🇦🤝🇫🇯 Welcoming the Canada Education Tour to The University of the South Pacific!

The University of the South Pacific (USP) was delighted to host a group of 45 students from Canada as part of the Canada Education Tour, providing them with an opportunity to experience life at USP and gain a deeper understanding of our academic programmes, research, and the unique Pacific perspective.

We were honoured to welcome Canada’s Acting High Commissioner during the official opening ceremony, highlighting the strong and growing educational ties between Canada and the Pacific.

Throughout their visit, the students participated in a series of engaging sessions led by our esteemed academics and researchers, including:
🌺 An iTaukei Language session with Master Researcher Alesi Cama.
🌏 Pacific History with Dr Katrina Igglesden, Director of the Oceania Centre, and Frank Thomas.
🌱 Climate Change Resilience in the Pacific with Ratu Tevita Rarokolutu, Researcher and Teaching Assistant at the Centre for Sustainable Futures.

The group also explored USP’s vibrant creative community with a visit to the Epeli Hauʻofa Art Gallery, where they experienced the inspiring Home + Land exhibition, offering powerful reflections on identity, place, and the Pacific.

We thank our Canadian visitors for spending time with us and hope their experience at USP has provided valuable insights into the rich cultures, knowledge, and opportunities that make our university and the Pacific region so unique. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

The first group of students from The University of the South Pacific (USP) has officially departed for Australia to begin their semester exchange programme at our partner universities.

As they embark on this exciting journey, they will have the opportunity to broaden their academic horizons, immerse themselves in new cultures, and represent USP and the Pacific on the global stage.

🌏✨ Welcome to Semester 2, 2026! 🎓🌺

The University of the South Pacific (USP) International Office recently hosted the Orientation Welcome and Information Session for our international students commencing Semester 2.

The session provided students with important information to support their transition into life at USP, including academic guidance, student support services, and opportunities to make connections within our diverse university community.

Adding to the excitement of the welcome was the arrival of the University of Melbourne Pacific Field School, who will be spending two days at USP engaging with our campus community and experiencing the rich culture, knowledge, and learning environment of the Pacific.

We warmly welcome all our new international students and look forward to a successful and enriching semester ahead! 🌏💙💚

🌏✈️ USP Students Embark on Semester Abroad Experiences! 🇫🇯🎓

This week, we proudly farewell seven University of the South Pacific (USP) students as they depart Fiji to begin their semester of study abroad at our partner universities in Australia.

The students will be joining Macquarie University in Sydney and Victoria University in Melbourne, where they will continue their studies, experience a new academic environment, and immerse themselves in different cultures.

Through these international mobility opportunities, USP students gain valuable global exposure, develop new skills, and create connections that will support their academic and professional journeys.

🎓✨ That’s a wrap on the Melbourne Winter School 2026! 🇦🇺

After two weeks of learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange, our University of the South Pacific (USP) students have successfully completed the Melbourne Winter School at the University of Melbourne.

Throughout the programme, students explored a wide range of topics, including sustainability, leadership, geopolitics, Indigenous knowledge, and innovation, while engaging with leading academics and students from around the world. Beyond the classroom, they embraced new experiences, built lifelong friendships, and proudly shared the rich cultures of the Pacific during the Cultural Showcase.

This journey has been one of personal growth, global learning, and meaningful connections that will continue to inspire our students long after they return home.

A sincere thank you to the University of Melbourne for hosting an outstanding programme and for providing our students with an unforgettable international learning experience.

Congratulations to all of our USP students on completing the Melbourne Winter School—we are incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to seeing how you apply these experiences in your future studies and careers. 🌏💙
