Etina Havea Kindergarten marked Easter with a joyful and meaningful celebration through their special Easter program held today. Parents, teachers, and guardians came together to witness the children share the story of Easter in a beautiful and engaging way.
The highlight of the program was a heartfelt reenactment of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, with the children portraying the moment He rode on a donkey. Their performance, along with songs and dances, reflected both their enthusiasm and understanding of the significance of the season.
Adding to the depth of the occasion, Apineru Tavita—a parent and PCU student—shared a short but powerful reflection. He spoke on Jesus’ words, “Let the little children come to me,” emphasizing the importance of nurturing strong communication with our children and surrounding them with love, guidance, and care.
The program was not only a celebration but also a reminder to all present of the value of faith, love, and the role we play in shaping the lives of our children.

Ash Wednesday is a special day in the Christian calendar. It marks the beginning of a season called Lent, which lasts for 40 days before Easter.
On this day, many Christians go to church and receive a small cross made of ashes on their forehead. The ashes are a symbol. They remind people to be humble, to think about how they are living, and to try to grow in kindness and love. It is also a reminder that life is precious and that we should not take it for granted.
Lent is often a time when people choose to give something up or make a positive change. Some might give up sweets. Others might decide to be more patient, more generous, or more helpful. The goal is not about rules or punishment. It is about taking time to reflect and become a better version of themselves.
In our school community, we have families from many different backgrounds and beliefs. While not everyone observes Ash Wednesday, the values behind it are ones we can all understand: reflection, gratitude, kindness, and growth.
It is a gentle reminder that small changes in our daily lives can help us grow into more thoughtful and caring people.
