Swami Vivekananda College, Nadi, Fiji Swami Vivekananda College (formerly know as Shri Vivekananda High School) was established in 1949 by the Ramakrishna Mission Fiji.

Swami Vivekananda College was the first private secondary school established in Fiji. It was founded in 1949 by Swami Rudranandaji Maharaj admist much opposition from the Colonial Government at the time. The College was formerly known as Sri Vivekananda High School. It is located at Malolo about 4 km from Nadi town. Swami Vivekananda College is managed by the Ramakrishna Mission, Fiji which is a branch of the worldwide Ramakrishna Mission. See www.rkmfiji.org for more information on the mission. Currently, the college serves students in form 3 to form 7 and currently has a roll of 1018 students and 54 staff. The college has a strong academic record and has been a pioneer of e-learning throughout Fiji. Students of the college are also involved in a number of community service projects. We are sorry to announce the passing away of Swami Damodaranandaji Maharaj at Belur Math, India on 13 July 2014. He was 95. He will be cremated at Belur Math on 14th July 2014) at 9 pm (Indian Time).

Swami Damodaranandaji had served in Fiji for 24 years from 1977 to 2000. His friendly and loving nature endeared him to one and all. He was instrumental for significant developments at Swami Vivekananda High School, Vivekananda Technical centre, Ramakrishna Mission Primary School (Tailevu) as well as service to the poor and needy.

A memorial service will be held in his honour as follows:
Venue: Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Malolo, Nadi
Date & time: 10 am on Sunday, 27th July 2014
