My name is Christine and I am the Kindergarten teacher at being3 ELC in Melbourne. Biausevu Kindergarten is a small kinder run by the community village.
I have a close connection to Biausevu Kindergarten in Fiji as I have been going to the village for over 8 years as a volunteer teacher and as a family friend to many of the locals. It averages about 10 children per day, with one head teacher, whereas being3 averages 24 children per day, is privately owned and has 5 qualified staff. The children at being3 and I started discussions on people around

Biausevu Kindergarten has a new teacher this year. 😊
I am in the process of getting in touch with her and continuing our friendship.
In term 2 we will start our excursions to the post office again to post parcels to Biausevu Kindergarten.
For all our families at being3, donations are always welcome for our sister Kindergarten.
For all our new families at being3, an email will be sent out shortly explaining our connection to Fiji 😊
We can't wait to start donating again to this wonderful Kindergarten and teaching our being3 children the value of donating.
Thank you Amelia for sharing these photos of you and the children receiving our last parcel. I showed the children today and they were very happy to see the Hot Wheels cars getting used :) lots of love to you all.
Today the staff and children at being 3 walked over to the local post office to post a parcel full of donations from our wonderful children and families. A huge thank you to you all for your generous donations. I am sure Amelia will share photos with us once they receive the box. Lots of love xo
A new school year ahead, we look forward to termly excursions to the post office to post some educational goodies for our friends at Biausevu Kindy
Wishing everyone a safe and happy school year ahead.
Last week the children and staff at being3 went on a excursion to the post office to post a box to our kinder friends at Biausevu. We learnt about the process of mailing post and the cost . The children got to see it first hand. We then walked to the travel agent to see where Fiji is on the large wall map and learning about the countries surrounding.
I just received an email from the lovely teacher Amelia saying ...
"Bula my sister, I hope u that are all well and healthy. I just want to take this opportunity on behalf of my little ones, parents and the villagers, in thanking you very much for the great donations that I have received.I will take it to the kindy to open"
We are very happy the box has arrived so quickly and safely. Enjoy opening it on Monday morning and we can't wait to see photos of you all 😄.
Week 1 of 'guess the baby' focused on the teachers at being3. We were surprised at how many children actually got us right :)
Another week of guessing us teachers then its onto the children.
We have had some very very generous donations, including one little by bringing in his own money box from home and donating all his savings.
Cant wait to get another box sent to Biausevu :)
Next week at Being3, we are having a 'guess the baby' gold coin donation fundraiser . All funds raised will go towards posting a few parcels to our friends at Biausevu Kinder 😄

A big THANK YOU to our very own Madison and her family (The Rowe family) for taking time out from their holiday to go and visit Biausevu on behalf of being3.
I have been told that the children at Biausevu absolutely loved your visit and loved the gifts you gave on behalf of the families here back at Kinder. Thank you again, and we hope you enjoyed seeing their Kinder as much as they enjoyed having you :)
For any being3 parents reading, i have printed Madison's photos and are displayed next to the sign in book for you to look at with your child :)
This visit was very exicitng. The 4 blackboard top tables that we ordered were delivered and set up.
The teacher, committee and children were very thrilled and wanted to use them straight away. Another exicting thing for them all was that a reporter from Fiji times came to write a story...a major newspaper in Fiji. The fact that some of their children were in the paper was such a exciting time for the whole village :)
The committee set up a lunch and kava ceremony for myself and my parents. They made it a very special lunch beacuse they wanted to honour my parents also for their help and support!
Another very successful visit which was full of smiles and love from everyone in the village
