Today marks the beginning of your journey as a driver. Remember, confidence comes with experience, but safety comes from discipline, patience, and good judgement.Respect other road users, avoid distractions, follow the road rules, and never rush. A good driver is not the fastest driver, but the one who gets home safely. My job was to teach you how to control the vehicle; your responsibility now is to make wise decisions every time you sit behind the wheel.

Done and dusted – TOTS Module 2!

If you ever see Helen Ieli listed as your facilitator, consider yourself fortunate. You may walk into that training room with questions, nerves, and uncertainty, but you’ll walk out with knowledge, confidence, and a whole new perspective.

Madam Helen has a way of making everyone feel welcome, regardless of the organization you come from. She’s motivating, ETHICAL , professional, and believes in bringing out the best in every trainee.
This training has strengthened me, and I now return to the field with renewed confidence, deeper knowledge, and a stronger purpose.

If someone is already prepared and close to obtaining their licence, they can continue under the current system.

But I would not encourage people to rush simply out of fear. A licence is not just a card,it is a responsibility. If the new system produces safer, more competent drivers, then it is worth the extra time.

Don’t focus on how quickly your child gets a licence. Focus on how safely they learn to drive. A few extra months of supervised learning can prevent a lifetime of regret.

Today, one of my students, at 60 years young, achieved her driver’s licence. It has been an absolute pleasure being part of her journey.

She was an exceptional learner ,a great listener, cooperative, eager to learn, and always willing to correct her mistakes without repeating them. Most importantly, she brought so much positivity and determination to every lesson.

She will soon be migrating to Australia, and I have no doubt she will continue to achieve great things there.

What I admired most was the unwavering support she received from her husband and her two children who live abroad. Their daily calls, encouragement, and constant reminders that “age is just a number” played a huge role in keeping her motivated. I may never have met you both, but hearing the way you spoke to and encouraged your mum was enough to show what amazing children and pillars of strength you are.

To everyone reading this: age is truly just a number. The biggest limits are often the ones we place in our own minds. With determination, support, and a positive attitude, it is never too late to learn, grow, and achieve your goals.

One important lesson we grasped from this batch is that many accidents begin long before a person sits behind the wheel. When you leave home stressed, upset, emotionally disturbed, or unhappy, your focus leaves the road too.

A peaceful mind creates a safer driver.
Leave home happy, calm, and stress-free because your attention on the road can save lives , including your own.

You all will truly be missed. Congratulations to each and every one of you for getting your licence. Wishing you all a lifetime of safe driving and beautiful journeys ahead.
