Nykyvaloa on uuden sukupolven tekijöiden valokuvanäyttely. Backlight2023-festivaalin Julmaa valoa -teema on johdattanut heidät tutkimaan näkymättömiä voimia, jotka muovaavat tulevia todellisuuksia. Teokset käsittelevät muun muassa ihmisen vaikutusta ympäristöön, nostalgiaa ja kaipausta, fyysisiä ja virtuaalisia yhteyksiä sekä identiteetin ja sukupuolen kysymyksiä.

Nykyvaloa on ryhmänäyttely, jonka ovat toteuttaneet opiskelijat Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulun Fine Art -linjalta (TAMK, Tampere), Tampereen yliopiston kuvajournalismin opinnoista (TAU, Tampere) sekä Willem de Kooning Academiestä (WDKA, Rotterdam)

Reflecting on Backlight2023’s theme Cruel Radiance, this new generation of makers portray the invisible forces that are changing future realities.

In this current age we are forced to acknowledge, and are constantly confronted with the state of the world. Socially, virtually, politically.

The makers will show you their vision on topics such as climate change, identity, connection and nostalgia.

New Rays is a collective exhibition by students from Willem de Kooning (WDKA, Rotterdam), Tampere University of Applied Science Fine art (TAMK, Tampere) and Tampere University Photojournalism (TAU, Tampere) and Willem de Kooning (WDKA, Rotterdam).

It’s us again with yet another open call.😎(Yay!)

This time the open call is for an exhibition for iWeek, that’ll be available from 21.3. to 24.3. on the second floor.
The theme is “Here and Now” and it can and should be interpreted in many different and interesting ways when it comes to submitting works.

The works you submit can be photographs, paintings and this time even video works, animations and installations. We want to showcase all different styles of art and ways of making it. We look forward to seeing all of your works!

We are accepting 1-3 works per one students and the submission is open till 19.3. 16:00.
The works should be submitted through: [email protected]
Just send your artwork(s), your name, study path and what year you are in. Simple as that.

This exhibition is brought to you by you, from you, for you and ALL ABOUT YOU, so don’t miss the chance to submit.

Last week Teuta Pashnajari ( ) had her exhibition opening in Galleria Ronga ( ). Here are some photos from the opening and what Teuta had to say about her exhibition.

“ “Dream Sequence” is a series that aims to symbolize spiritual growth, enigmas of the future and life-changing experiences.
Part of the exhibition will also be my video art project titled ‘’I AM HOME’’ is a performance piece that focuses on my strong connection with Finland, France, Germany and Greece.
In this performance video I write ‘’I am home’’ in four different languages stating the importance and personal influences these countries have had in my life.”

Media and F´arts is happening again this year for the upcoming Eye on Tamk week! We are once again putting on the show to highlight and showcase some of our students works. So we are looking for submissions to the show in two categories with the theme being “Reconnection”. With the theme meaning many different things to different people, we are excited to see all your works!

💜For the set we are looking for paintings and drawings made by our students.

💜And for the show itself you can submit music videos, short films, moving image works, performances. The performances will be filmed in the Kuvastudio at Mediapolis on the 8th of March.

Anyone can submit any works they would like to show, but please remember that not all the works may be selected.
The submitted works should have a description or text document describing the submitted works as well as the artist bio.

We are also doing interviews this year again! So those of you who submit will be contacted for a chance to be interviewed by none other than… drumroll please! Brandon Emene and Deniz Kardzha!!
