Today we looked deeper into a couple of games and analysed how they have succeeded in delivering a profound game experience and what design choices are behind them.
Education has started. On Monday we learned about concepting and concept design. Tuesday was spent in a Game Seminar in OUAS and today's lectures were about game design and defining the target audience. Yey us!

Game and concept design special courses on fall 2012

Oulu University of Applied Sciences launches a special game and concept design training program on the fall 2012. The program is made of 30 ECTS credits worth of project studies. During the projects the students will design and implement game and concept designs based on ideas from companies working on the field. In addition ideas from the students can also be used.
Maximum of 20 persons will be selected for the program. The persons selected into the program must have true passion for games or concept designs and have the necessary skills to participate into game or concept design work in some field during the program.
The target group for the training are 3rd or 4th year students from the fields of software engineering, graphics design, user interface/experience design, script writing, game design, audio and other similar areas. The program aims to enhance these skills to ensure that the students have the best possible chances to grow into real game or concept design professionals.
