For two weeks, the KAO conservatory has had two Dutch singer-songwriter students, Mila and Charlie, from the RijnIjssel college in Arnhem. Together with the Finnish students they have made, practiced and recorded their own songs

Juha Järvinen, chairman of the Finnish Conservatory Association, and Anu Kuosmanen, director of the educational business department of the city of Kajaani, and Osmo Rimpiläinen, education manager, handed KAO Conservatory teacher Tapani Komulainen the silver medal of merit awarded by the Finnish Conservatory Association at the KAO Conservatory concert organized on Saturday 21 January 2023 at the Congress and Culture Center Kaukametsä. At the concert, the KAO conservatory celebrated its 20th anniversary. Former and current students and teachers performed at the concert.
The Finnish Conservatory association is the interest and cooperation organization of conservatories. Founded in 1986, the association promotes the status of vocational basic qualifications in music and the development of education.
