V happy to introduce the newest member of The Enquiry, Claire Walsh !
Claire is a curator based in Dublin who co-organises art exhibitions and events both independently and as part of her role at IMMA - Irish Museum of Modern Art where she works as Assistant Curator (Collections). She is interested in crossovers between fictional narratives and art, expanded modes of distributing artworks and art that digs its claws into systemic oppressions.
Before moving to Dublin in 2017, Claire was working in Edinburgh as a curatorial assistant at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art. In 2016 she was guest co-editor at MAP (mapmagazine.co.uk) a non-profit organisation dedicated to the discussion and support of artist-led publishing and production. In collaboration with Suzanne van der Lingen they co-produced Footnoting the Archive, a year-long programme of publishing and live events between Glasgow and Edinburgh and online.
In the past year Claire has published articles and essays in MAP, Paper Visual Art journal and Mousse Magazine online. Recent exhibitions that she co-curated include A Fiction Close to Reality (with Johanne Mullan) at IMMA, 2019, and You hardboiled I softboiled (with the Rhubaba Committee) at Rhubaba, Edinburgh, 2018. Claire studied Painting (BA) at Limerick School of Art & Design and Contemporary Art Theory (MA) at Edinburgh College of Art.
Claire joined The Enquiry in 2018 and has been working with the group on our next event taking place 10th April .institute New York. More details to come!
