Open Decks + Acid House Lecture Pt. 2

Iso-Britannian free party -skenen historiaan perehtyvän luentosarjan kakkososassa, Conehead avaa 80-luvun lopun acid house -skenen tärkeimpiä tapahtumia. Luennossa käydään läpi myös median reaktioita, poliisin toimintaa, yleisesti koko ilmiötä sekä myös liikkeen sisäisiä negatiivisia puolia. Luento sisältää myös lyhyen alustuksen aiheeseen liittyvään kirjallisuuteen. Luennot on toteutettu yhteistyössä HYTKYn kanssa ja ne pidetään englanniksi. Luennon jälkeen on taas luvassa Open decks! Kaikki tasot ja genret ovat tervetulleita! Ovet aukeavat klo 17.00, lista avautuu klo 17.15 ja ensimmäinen soittoslotti klo 17.30 (2 slottia ennen luentoa). Acid house -luento alkaa klo 18.30, jonka jälkeen open decks jatkuu klo 19.30 eteenpäin aina klo 22 saakka. Aikataulu on alustava, ja aloitamme luennon jälkeisen open decks -osion hieman myöhemmin mikäli luento kestää pidempään. Slotit ovat 30 minuuttia pitkiä ja listan avautuessa tarjoamme ensin slotteja ensikertalaisille. Sen jälkeen slotit menevät nopeusjärjestyksessä.
Tarkoituksena on tarjota kokoontumispaikka DJlle ja ihmisille tulla nauttimaan musiikista ja hengaamaan yhdessä. Huomioithan, että kyseessä ei ole DJ workshop, vaikka aloittelijat ja ensikertalaiset ovatkin lämpimästi tervetulleita. Autamme kuitenkin DJ-välineiden kanssa ja siinä, että jokainen pääsee alkuun!
Open deckseillä käytössä seuraavat välineet: 2 x CDJ 2000, 2 x Technics 1200 ja DJM-750. Suosittelemme myös ottamaan omat kuulokkeet mukaan, mikäli omistat sellaiset.

In the second full-length lecture of the series on UK free party history, Conehead looks at some of the pioneering events of the late 80s acid house scene. He also discusses reactions by the press, the police and the state to the phenomenon, as well as some of the more negative aspects inside the movement. After the lecture we'll have some open decks action! All genres and levels welcome! Doors open at 17:00, the list to sign up opens at 17:15 and the first playing slot is at 17:30 (2 slots before the lecture). The lecture starts at 18:30, and after that open decks continues starting at 19:30 all the way until 22 oclock. The schedule is approximate, the open decks will start slightly later if the lecture lasts a bit longer. Playing slots are 30 minutes and people coming for the first time will have priority when the list opens at 17:15. After that, we'll follow a first come, first served policy.
The idea is to offer a gathering spot for djs and people who enjoy music to play some tunes, hang around and have a nice time. Important to note that this not a dj workshop, so even though beginners and first timers are warmly welcomed, there won't be direct instruction (but we are happy to help with the equipment and some basics for those who are starting).
Available equipment consists of 2 x CDJ 2000, 2 x Technics 1200 and DJM 750. We recommend bringing your own headphones, if you own one.
