High-Level Advocacy Meeting in Gambella Champions Girls' Rights!
From March 13-14, leaders gathered in Gambella to take a stand for girls' rights and gender equality. With strong commitments from regional and federal officials, the meeting addressed gender-based violence, access to education, and harmful social norms.
Key Outcomes:
- Pledge to strengthen legal protections for girls & women
- Increased investment in girls’ education
- Review of early marriage & dowry practices
- Expansion of services for refugee & host communities
A major milestone was the signing of commitments to improve gender equality and social services. Leaders also visited vital projects supporting women and girls, including solar-powered water systems, child protection, and education initiatives.
