How are you?
In Amharic we have got four kinds of you:
Masculine
Feminine
Respect and plural
አንተ : ante : you (masculine)
አንቺ: antchi : you (feminine)
እርሶ: erso : you (respect)
እናንተ: enante : you (plural)
መሆን : Mehon : verb to be
ነክ: nek: you are (masculine)
ነሽ: nesh: you are (feminine)
ኖት:not: you are (respect)
ናቹ: natchu: you are (plural)
When asking questions mainly in greetings we tend to use the following words
Endet
Endemen
Dehna
Which can be sum up as what / how
How are you?
We say :
ደህና ነህ: dehna neh?
ደህና ነሽ: dehna nesh?
ደህና ኖት: dehna not?
ደህና ናቹ: dehna natchu?
