In remote sensing, resolution refers to the level of detail that a sensor can capture about the Earth’s surface. It determines how clearly, how precisely, and how meaningfully information can be extracted from satellite or aerial imagery. There are four main types — each revealing a different dimension of detail:
✔ Spatial Resolution
✔ Spectral Resolution
✔ Temporal Resolution
✔ Radiometric Resolution
The right combination of spatial, spectral, temporal, and radiometric resolution ensures that remote sensing products support reliable analysis — from environmental monitoring to urban planning, agriculture, disaster management, and more.
