One year ago, I wandered into my new school and met the teachers that I would work with for the year.

I walked in knowing little Spanish and felt a very different level of discomfort, not understanding anyone in the school. 😆

I've often told myself that I want to feel all of the emotions. My first day of school here brought new emotions to life! 🌍🪐

This was one of those moments for me this past year where everything seemed to connect.

We had a number of different parties in our apartment and I remember looking around at times and just being grateful for this whole experience. It is so interesting to me having a variety of different people gathering in my apartment, speaking multiple languages, and being able to take part in it.

One of my favorite things about being a foreigner is that it is easy to connect with others who are traveling or living abroad as well.

As I reflect on these times, I think about my first couple months of moving to Spain and the isolation I felt.

I can't remember the last time I felt as much fear around something as I have in my experience of dealing with a language barrier.

It sounds ridiculous, but it's an absolute roller coaster of emotions if you've never been through the language learning process.

I love reflecting on these moments. 🌍🪐
The most stressful times of your life always seem like they'll last forever, but are usually the ones where you will look back fondly.

The summer of 2019 was the first time that traveled abroad and lived in a foreign country by myself.
I lived in Denmark for six weeks and connected with people from all around the world.
My experience with studying abroad opened up so many doors for me. Forever grateful.🌍🪐

The intention of this page is to help educate through the abroad experience.
I have been living in Spain for the past year and plan to be in Europe for at least a few more.
My time living abroad and experiencing different cultures and types of individuals has brought me so much growth and inspiration to find my Truth.
As an American, I want to inspire others to leave your comfort zone and be willing to face discomfort head on. Traveling and leaving your country for an extended period of time is an incredible way to do that.
