Nowadays, it’s hard to think that just over 100 years ago British women did not have the right to vote. It is thanks to the real Suffragettes, such determined women who fought and lost their lives, that we can take this right for granted today.

You guessed it, it’s an absolute classic for this week’s

📚 Notting Hill 🍃

Most of us have seen it already (maybe more times than we’d like to admit 🤭), so why is it worth watching again?

🎬 If you can’t decide whether to watch an American or British film, here you have the best of both worlds: Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. A fantastic way to practise your listening skills with the two different accents.

🎬 Just watching it for the hilarious performance by Rhys Ifans as Spike is a reason in itself 🤣 Plus, Spike is Welsh, so that’s a third different accent to listen out for.

🎬 At the end of the day, it’s a story of the impossible, or at least the very unlikely, coming true: a Hollywood movie star and a humble bookshop owner fall in love 😍
