// 6 years ago today I was sitting in Chicago under a blanket with dreams bouncing around my brain. It’s been the wildest journey to today. And ya know what? I may not be making 5 or 10 year plans right now, but I’m keeping my future dreams alive while I live out several of them right now. This is where the action gets good. This is where the story gets exciting. This is where little choices and actions can change the way the story is written.

✨She’s a wildflower with dreams of conquering mountains and bringing color, Life, and coffee just about anywhere she goes.

// Let’s bring things full circle…shall we? It’s been 5 years since my feet first met Spanish ground and I’ll never be the same. This was taken 5 years and 3 days ago. I can’t believe that much time has come to pass since I was standing there looking out at the world with such awe and great anticipation. Little did I know it would be the hardest year I had lived to that time. The last 5 years have been a journey of pressing, releasing, receiving, restoring, and grace. More than once today I told pilgrims passing through Pilgrim House just how thankful I am to be here in Santiago…to be back in Spain. To see the beauty of my story continue here and stand witness to the Father’s impact on not only my life but the lives of those I meet.

Here’s to the newest chapter and bringing it all back to the beginning. 💛🇪🇸

// Summer days are winding down here in Santiago. I can hardly believe that next weekend will mark 4 months of my initial time back in Spain. I’m finally in my own place. I’m making connections as I adventure around the historic district. One of these days I’ll make it over to the rock climbing gym. Really just taking things day by day. It’s been absolutely and sometimes overwhelmingly exhausting. I’ve had my fair share of moments where I feel like I’m not handling the transition well or things aren’t going like I thought they would. Then last weekend the Holy Spirit stopped me as I was baking to say: “Even if you feel like your not doing this well or handling things the way you thought you would. Whether you feel like you’re failing at this or not…you are no less worthy, chosen, loved, and deserving of what the Father has called you to and what He has given to you. He’s not wishing He could take it back. He never will.” *insert tears baked into my corn bread*

Hey friend, no matter how your handling the challenges in front of you. You are no less deserving of the gifts and abundance that the Father has given you or is about to give you. That’s what perfect love does.

🤔When I think about being a woman who empowers other women I think about where my power comes from. I am powerful because it’s who my Creator made me to be, not because I , wake up at a certain time every day, complete a 6-week workout challenge, or speak at a huge conference on the subject of empowerment.

💫Joy is my strength. [Neh. 8:10]

I can’t make this stuff up.😦None of it comes from anything I have "created." It’s all a gift. It’s the inheritance of EVERY woman ever to walk this earth. Something to CLAIM over ourselves EVERY DAY. Even when our own strength runs out the Lord empowers us. The promise to and the freedom to claim these things over my life empowers me to help other women to be empowered in the same way.

Empowerment comes in the form of dying to myself every day. Understanding that every day I make a choice to be Empowered by the Lord’s love and all the gifts that come with it, or to choose to see my power coming from the things I can do. My abilities and capacity fluctuate, but the Lord’s love and his empowerment never do. Woof.

Many of you may not be. 😄Three years ago (when I was in Málaga, Spain) you were there with me in spirit as I fully embraced one of the most challenging years of my life–learning a whole new language/culture, serving/loving the people I met, and all the while learning more about myself and God in the process.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

👣Remember the Camino De Santiago? Yeah, that crazy 500 mi/800 km of walking day in and day out for 35 days I took at the end of that year? Something changed in me during that pilgrimage across Northern Spain that I’ll probably never be able to put into words—something beautiful. That journey set me on the path that I’m now on to see other’s lives transformed through their own Caminos. ➔⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

😄Next winter (🙏🏼2021) I will be moving (semi-permanently) to Santiago De Compostela to serve and love hundreds of thousands of people (pilgrims) from all over the world with . It’s been almost a year since I started pursuing the opportunity to join and 8 months since I received the invitation to join their team. I can’t contain my excitement any longer!!! I’ve wanted to share this with you all for SO LONG, but there was a bit of pause put on the world (thanks, Covid). 😬⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Injustice will always exist but unjust hearts, minds, and souls don’t have to.

I promise to not let this pass me by. For several weeks I’ve been processing through these thoughts: There is no “when this is all over.” “When things go back to normal.” Reality check––hate, discrimination, abuse, malicious intent, and death prowl the earth seeking someone to devour. (1Pet. 5:8) So let us not run for cover to save ourselves, but see our brother or sister that are in harm's way and throw ourselves into the line of fire for them. A few thousand years ago the greatest friend I have ever known did that for me; demonstrating that in order to be more like Him I should also lay down my life for my friends.

Things will not go back to normal...Jesus is not satisfied with the “status quo” so neither am I. “Blood is thicker than water, but Spirit is thicker than blood.” So I’m asking for wisdom and guidance in unfamiliar territory. “There’s a cry for justice. A cry for MY justice.” says the Lord. Let us live as reconciliation and remember that we do not wage war the way that the world does..."The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds." (2 Cor. 10:4) I will continue to partner with peace, open my ears to the cries of His people, lend my hands and my feet to their care, and wage spiritual battles for justice to prevail. My heart, my voice, my prayers are ALWAYS for you.

Words aren’t enough, but Jesus is.
