Hi 👋 This is Kris Wyatt! The teacher, the translator, the lesson planner and improviser, the storyteller, la profe, la maestra, la traductora, la cuenta cuentos.
The Wyatt House as an idea was born in 2001, but didn’t open its first physical doors until 2010. It travelled in a backpack from 2015-2025, and is now open again in the same little town it started: Ramallosa, Nigrán, Spain. It also remains online.
My name is Kris, that’s what my students call me, and that is the norm in Spain. I was never a Ms Wyatt nor Ms R until I taught abroad. I grew up in 3 languages and now speak about 6-7, and yes I know what I just did there.
Froggy was born in 2010, as a mascot at first, then becoming our logo, and currently a sort of stamp for anything we do, from our book reviews to our flyers, in big size on our door, and a sort of branding. Our groups for children are named after frogs, too.
I currently teach English, Spanish, French, and Italian, to anyone of any age in person, or online (love my Italian students!) and I still do it from the heart like I did in 2001. I learnt some to ing very early on– that I couldn’t teach if we weren’t all enjoying our time together.
And plenty of other lessons along the way.
So here I am. Ask me anything 😉 I will try to answer as best I can.
With thanks to a Cris with a C for the first photo, and to my Spanish for foreigners class for the second pic! 🐸 💙
